The car looks great Des. Excellent progres!! We think alike on that bare metal look - its the way to go. If it was easy keeping it that way, everyone would do it. I live in the rainiest town in the Effen country, and I am still trying to keep mine bare. Keeps things honest you know - Cant hide shit with bare metal!

  3. ohhh baby thats kooking sweet, have u tried a product called lanosheild by crc, i dont know if u have it in the states but its what i used and i have driven in the rain and everything, its a spray can it clean surface rust of aswell and makes the metal look great, i just sprayed it on and wippd it around with a rag everytime i wanted to take it out or go to a show, and pre wash cleans it off easy as, mine will get paint eventually but in the mean time it looks rad. i been watching ur build coming along sweet essexcoupe.

    Hey Des,

The spinner work is looking excellent. Any updates from the weekend? What do you think about having us a lowest Shoebox competition? Are you in? Maybe we can ask around and see if any other builders are in. Let me know man. I always look forward to seeing your updates.

  10. Hey fellas heaps of updates had a week off and got a fair bit done good to see u guys are impatient fucks aswell ha ha. I'll chuck some up soon I'd say. Lent my camera to a young lady friend so she took it but I got some on the iPhone to put up. Will put more detailed ones when I get the camera back.

  11. Ha ha ha in down with that. But how do we decide who wins u are all the way around the world ha ha but I'm keen. Ps without channeling mine it can't get any lower and the front is pretty much on the ground except I left it up a bit to allow for the sump on the flatty cause they sit low.
    But let's do this

  12. Ok it's been a couple weeks do I'll just post some pics of progress on things but it'll coming along to plan for motorex and my camera is still gone so when u get that back put up some better pics.
Had an onsite sand blaster come round and do some cleaning up for me of stuff that is hard to clean up. Sprayed some por 15 around and got the front air bags nearly fully sorted. I want to do a seperate how to on this cause there is fuck all to nothing info on how people do the fronts. But on thing I will say is I don't think u can mount them down in the lower of the a arm properly without it rubbing. There is not enough space. Anyway this is the pics of how I did it not saying its right but it works and I feel it came up pretty neat. Here's some pics.

  13. More pics, been practicing my tig weldig and gettin some lesson from ahron. So did all my front end stuff with that and it's awesome to use and get awesome penetration. First is a couple pics when I rolled it out in the drive way and sat the front fender on to do some after shots of the wheel arch drop for street machine so I did a couple on my iPhone to share.

    Attached Files:

  14. As u can see I got rid of the original bump stop mount and replaced it with 3mm plate steel and made it a bit more radiused to allow for more clearance for the airbag. Then I cut all the rivets from the bottom spring mount and cut and grinded up a piece of 5mm plate. Will go into more detail when not on the phones more pics

  15. Pics also high build printed a bunch of stuff and started on the rear bags they should be easy as after the fronts. Also just have to finish cuttin out the spring pocket and re strengthening that to finish the fronts. Will post a lot further mor prgress once I get out in the shed tomorrow arvo and take some more pics

It's looking great des that Pontiac side trim should look the part
Is that nailhead ya got going in sooner than later
Keep going dude it'll be done in no time , but the build is always fun too

  20. Na tht pic of the trim is my new side trim. 52 Packard currently in transit to here. The nailhead is phase three make over lol that's when it gets a Muncie ad 6 97's and a full rebuild after October that's happening. Can't wait for that action.

  21. A couple pics and the smoothing work on the dash gettin ready to give to my buddies for some sweet paint and striping.
    Cheers fuckers

  22. Adjusted the doors up to swing adn close nicely, man it is a fair bit of fucking around to get the lines nice but so worth it. Heat hammer port o power blocks of wood anything to get it right me and ahron spent a bit of time but they are sweet te passenger side nearly ended up perfect but still gunna sand and wells the edges to get perfect gaps. Once that was done I out the mechanisms back in and they open and close better than new ha ha. Many hours of sanding and welding ahead but I'm really looking forward to gettin tem nice, here's a pic of the passenger side and some of we're I plan on mounting my new Packard side trim. I think it looks killer but I might try gettin two more centre pieces to get them to go the whole way down te side and finish off on the fender. There back the front and flipped side to side on how they come on a Packard but they look cool over the rear wheel arch. I tapped them on a few different spots but this is we're I ended up with placement. They will require cuttin and welding obviously but should be pretty easy. And a bit of filing sanding and polishing and they will be sweet as.

That trim is neat as I thought it was 49-52 pontiac that goes on the belt line under the windows at first bit can see what ya doin now
yup nice gaps is a mission on a shoebox ,from front to back on each side of mine there is 2" difference , I had to add 5mm to the front of one of my doors to close a 10 mm gap ,have fun doin all that gap stuff

  25. Ha ha yeah we measure the sills or rocker panels and they are like 3mm difference but yeah the doors are done and I'm keen as to get it all looking nice. Yeah the Pontiac trim was the first one I had but I didn't use it wasn't gunna work a mate just lent it to me to try.

  26. Des, told u a hundred times buddy, great work & look forward to seeing finished with the new stance in July & of course, thanks for sharing..
