Here's a pic of my Dad's coupe. His was about in the same shape as the one you just picked up.

Good luck with it, should be a fun project.

Think about it as a blank slate, you will be able to go in any direction with it you choose.

Wow, Pete, it's not what I was expecting to see. That poor car was victimized. I can't wait to see it come along, though.

    Pete,
Ya know, you remind me of a flea with a hard on going up a elephants leg with rape on it's mind. You both have optimism of the out come.

Best wishes on your...shall we say...God didn't build it, and God ain't going to rebuild it.:)

3 years later I'm still chipping away!

At least you have a decent looking frame.
I kinda like the hard-top rear quarter window.

The "Rebel" 40 was last in Bakersfield in the late 70's. It is now in the Chicago area, I just saw it yesterday. ; )

BTW Pete, judging on how great you made your coupe, this 40 is gonna be killer.

Pete, congrats and I know you can save it.
If the frame is toast and there's no title, you might consider finding a sedan roller for the frame, title, front clip, etc.
If there's no deck lid on the coupe, start saving your "lunch money"!

I may have pushed my luck here. yesterday when I tried to sneak the '40 by my mother in law she kind of gave me the hairy eyeball....now she really doesn't care how much "stuff" I have or store on the 11 acre lot but one has to wonder what the breaking point is....

Lets just say I have a few "project" cars hiding in the woods and immediate surrounding area, we'll leave it at that.

With that said this '40 may be on the For Sale page soon.

Here's some pics of the gem.

With a rear clip or even just some quarters this wouldn't be a bad car. The firewall is an easy fix and yes the floors need to be done but I would just run some cross bracing and make some floors which I plan to.

The frame is much nicer than I though, once you pull all of the shit off It actually is decent.

Oh no...Im getting yelled at by the wife...I have to help cook Mothers day food!

    Ill be back later.

Just joined. First post i've looked at. My favorite car, a 1940 Ford coupe. This one looks almost ready to take cruisin.......or someplace.
I've still got the 39 Ford coupe I bought around 1974???? Been stored since around 77. Yep, my favorite car and it just sits all alone!
