    amphicar
    BANNED

I spent some time typing a concise ad for an Amphicar I have for sale. The automated form requires some specific information but DID NOT require me to put a specific price so I chose not to. This AM I get a PM telling me my ad has been deleted for not posting a price. WTF? So I try to reply with the text below and now I get a error saying that no reply will be sent because they don't accept replies. So they appear that they have no interest in what yo have to say (I hope I'm wrong here) so I'm posting it here so the moderators are aware of it. This is really poorly thought out and beyond me. Who wouldn't be peeved at this?

My message to whomever deleted my ad...

Really? You just delete an ad that took me some time to create, your form does not require a price before being posted then you delete it for not having a price?? First and foremost your form should enforce the regulations if you want to require a price to post. You could have just asked me to edit the ad but to just delete it without asking or a thought is poor judgement.

I will repost, but don't blindly delete posts because your own forms were not properly created to enforce them. Why require people to recreate entire posts (instead of requesting a simple edit) that don't adhere to rules your own form does not enforce afterwards does not make any sense.
PLEASE FIX YOUR FORMS instead of deleting posts!!

  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe if you read the rules of the classified section... it states a price must be listed to post a car. Plus... this is a Hot Rod forum, nothing against your car but I don't think many people on here would classify an amphicar as such. Just my .02 and by no means am I the "HAMB Police".

  4. You could have simply responded to the PM and straightened things out instead of airing it out here...

    I'm thinking this'll get deleted/moved as well...

  5. Hummm....

How long has the classified section been around and running with many others listing their wares????????????????????????????

This post would have been better placed in the questions and suggestions section, just a heads up. I know it sucks to have to retype the whole ad. Im sure it was nothing personal, the mods are just trying to keep things tidy around here and may not always have the time to spend messaging bak and forth to fix a post.

  7. You have to put in a price or it will be deleted by the server. I had the same thing happen to me when I missed it. Sorry...do it again, you never know. They are auto messages I believe.

  8. Sounds to me like your Amphicar is sinking fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've been here 6 years and don't know how things work??????????????????????????

  15. John John John... you've been here OVER 6 YEARS, I would think even an asshat would have bought a clue in that amount of time.

PLEASE READ THE RULES before posting!!

(here is another little hint... save the add you worked so long and hard on to a word doc before posting it, that way if anything happens you can simply retrieve it and you won't have to share with the entire HAMB group that you can't/won't follow directions)

    - and here I thought "professional restorers" were good at following directions/coloring by numbers -

From a consumer point of view I absolutely HATE it when someone doesn't post a price and usually just skip over the ad no matter what it is. Typically most if not all websites require a price. Not posting a price is no different that posting a craigslist ad reading "$1" only to get into the ad and find the price $6,000...annoying. From a selling point of view....putting a price in will eliminate tire kickers and people wasting your time thinking it is a $200 car.

  19. If selling something a price is handy!!!!!!!!!

There are many posts by the mods stating "posts will be deleted if no price is posted.

I believe it was 3W that refered to the sand in the "kittie" I believe it might be in your eyes as well.

We aren't a classifieds site man. We don't try to be. We openly admit we suck at it. If that's an issue, I apologize... Honestly, I do...

    I deleted your ad -

Sorry man but it's right in paragraph 2 of the classified rules.
Ever read them ? If you had - you would have known the rules on pricing.

Ryan may say we suck at the classifieds but I think it's kick ass and grows everyday.

Sorry, no forms will be fixed so please follow the rules and no ads will get deleted.

    Thanks
