I really would like to put a 260 or 298 in a Highboy, but maybe it just me but, . . . . I think its the distributor Smack dab in the front of the engine that just doesn't flow.

289's look good but I too like the look of 265, 283 with stock Chevrolet script valve covers or finned alum better.

Phooey X2!!! At least you won't fry your belly on a hot radiator when you set your timing or have issues with firewall clearance.

Yeah! Less reliefing for the distributor, I like that. Turning the carb around that's a trip. ****, but overall it looks backwards to me even I love to looking at em in GT350s

For everyone's info a Ford in a Ford is the way God and Henry intended it to be. It's just like driving a manual ****** rather than an auto-tragic.

you need to have your head examined. Mouse Motors rule, 57 years and still going strong. Also voted #1 engine of all times in a recent poll.

They both look pretty ugly next to a flathead powered car.

What does it matter, run whatever engine you want and don't worry about it. A SBC or the Flathead look best in open engine bays, either one would be a good choice.

They'll both get you down the road.
They'll both make most say WOW !
They both burn fuel and cost money!
No matter which engine you use some smart *** will tell you you should have used another brand. :)

I built a '29 and '48 Ford w/SBC's , they ran great but everybody hated the chevy in the Ford!!! We all know how many SBC are in Fords , but the average ford guy gets pissed. My '30 roadster has a 351 and so many guys tell me that it's the only way. Some guys even shake my hand.
