Chevy roadster/phaeton cowls look funny to the Ford-trained eye of a Hot Rodder:

    I think it's a '29 Chevy roadster or phaeton.

I see a hinge on the side of the abandoned car...I don't see a place to attach stanchions to attach a windshield on the cowl...it's not a roadster...besides, BigCheese327, please don't call me a "Ford-trained eye"...the only Ford I've EVER owned is a '94 Probe...

No offense intended, 40StudeDude, just saying we're all more familiar with '29 Fords than '29 Chevies. You're right about the hinge, though.

It's rough but that doesn't mean it can't be turned into something cool.. I'd take it myself.

    I hate you.

I'm sure the guy with a crunched rear corner would say the same thing.

I normally say "save everything," But I'm getting lazier in my old age. I suppose if it's free, it's always worth draggin home.

  20. Yes i would drag them home if you have the space I saw a 39 ford convert that was dragged out of a creek...it was repair and the guy sold it for 20 thousand!

Not to mention the front bumper, door handle, and that little cowl trim piece. Good scores!

Local scrapyard purposefully puts the best old iron on top of the pile to show it off. "Not for sale!" are the words always spoken. Pisses me off sometimes.

  30. Hi, A long time back someone asked how to bend small brass tube to make wire covers. I found a trumpet book recently. The factory uses water with a bit of dish soap, Frozen to minus 49 degrees. The soap keeps the ice bendable. It works great. The trumpets show no disrortion, just very graceful bends. Much easier than using sand. Just wantedto pass this on, hope someone can use it.
