Hot Rods 32 Roadster has entered the building....

  1. Great looking roadster Frank.

Red wheels look like shit when contrasting with a flat black body (I get horrible visions of R** R**s) Paint that sucker a nice gloss black and leave the wheels and it will be a sweet period ride.

Option B is pull out The Birth Of Hot Rodding and thumb thru it and see the many different colours wheels were painted, then pick a period colour.

Personally If I was going to the trouble of painting the wheels I would pick Black or that cream colour some '35 Ford wires had.

Mate. Good to see alls good with the car. I think you need to think differently about the colour choice. I have been reading a lot of early ford literature of late. I think if you were a hot rodder back pre war and you went to the bone yard for wheels. First thing you knew was that black was the standard wheel colour. And I think most hot rodders would have gone for the deluxe colours if they had a choice, especially for the same $$$. So I think that you would be best to look at a restorer book on what the deluxe wheel colours were and chose from that list. So 35 Ford colours. I think that's what the car deserves.

Nothing wrong with black have two sets of blaxck wires, but this car deserves colour.

Wasn't there a thread on here lately about Aussie import really clamping down on '32 to '40 complete cars coming into OZ? One guy was going to ship body and chassis separately to get around it. Your's seems to have come in no problem.

    Beautiful car by the way.........

Ask yourself if you like red wheels...if you do ,go for it...never build your car to satisfy other people prejudice...also, how many black deuce roadsters with red wheels are in your neighborhood....go with what YOU like, not what is fashionable or not...as for what a teenage Hot Rodder back in the day would have done ..who knows,? red paint was available atrthe local store, so why not.

great looking car mate..real nice score.

Good looking roadster. It's your ride so as others have stated do it your way. If it were mine I think I would leave it as is except maybe a red pinstripe around the beltline & a couple of lines on the nose & trunk. What ever makes you happy just run the wheels of it & enjoy,

  20. Im figuring so, all the guys selling 17 inch KH from 34's at swapmeets here always say they've got the 18's but wont bring them because they dont sell and when i call them to see if theyve dug them up they dont. i second guessed a pair at ballarat this year and when i went back they were gone. ill keep an eye out and ill let you know if i find any here or stateside.
