    I don't! FTF! However, if I had a '32 I'd have it full fendered.

The only reason I have them is that's the way my grandpa built it back in the late 60's and 70's and I don't have the heart to take anything apart the he built with his own two hands. We just lost him a few months ago so for now the fenders stay. Just wondering if anyone built 'em that way anymore

My 32 never looked right to "me" as the highboy I was trying to build. That's because my first 50s built roadster that I bought 40 years ago, was full fendered.

Now I finally like the car....it's full fendered...a cabriolet style conv.

I say leave it as is..... If it was good enough for grandpa, it should be good enough for you..... I think you are lucky to have it.....

    My avitar has fenders:rolleyes:

  11. I run fenders on my roadster because I like them. I also like hi-boys but I think a full fendered car that has the right stance and tires that fill the fenders is hard to beat, like my avatar. Despite what some say, having fenders doesn't make it less of a hot rod, it just makes it different from most hot rods.

I think my '28 RPU looks better with. Without fenders pickups look like farm equiptment, and roadster cars look like they should be on the racetrack slideing sideways.

    That should stir the pot!

farm equipment...ha,ha I got to remember that one :)

Your truck looks great...matter fo fact, so do all the pics on this thread.

But I like them all; none, full, or bobbed rears with cycle fronts. They are all cool.

Don't have a roadster, but always liked them with motorcycle fenders.

I agree. Makes it look like it's half finished. Besides, no fenders, i can't ride it here.

I remember something Robt. Williams said once.

Roadsters should have fenders, coupes don't need 'em.

    Or something like that.

There are SOOO many plastic '32 highboys around, it takes fenders to make it look different. my '32 roadster had fenders and my '31 has 'em. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I prefer fenders on my 32's. Both the roadster and the 3W coupe.
Some states have a fender law. Must have fenders if it weighs more than 1500 lbs. Rarely enforced but they can pull it out and use it if they want.

Fenders help protect the paint from flying road debris. Keeps the rain splash under the car also.

    Plus ... I think they look BETTER ! :D

Unfortunately ... it costs about 3 grand to put fenders and the required other stuff ... on a 32 Ford. It requires running boards, front fender braces, frame horn covers, splash apron and a headlight bar. That's not even counting the optional pair of bumpers and bumper braces.

This could be the start of a new social group: RFC= Roadster Fender Club. or, FENDERS for short. We know what it means.

Back in the day I ran bikes and cars without fenders to look cool. A long distance trip on a cold and wet night made me rethink the "Cool Look". But, that's why they sell goggles and leathers...

Anyone ever cruised down a fresh hot topped gravel highway without any fenders? It's not a pretty sight and stings a little too!!!

I think fenders look sooooo much smoother on a roadster. You can bet I'm going to run mine and they aren't really cherry...but then, neither is my car....so what. Without them, it just looks like every other roadster out there. I say RUN 'EM if ya got 'em.
