Something new in Auto tobs. George R. Wharff of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and Joseph Fossard returning from Florida. When they lost their top, they thatched it with palm leaves which seem to answer every purpose. Gyp, their companion on the trip, has traveled 10,000 miles on the front fender as shown in the picture, 5/2/22

Convoluted reasoning. And anyway, it's a thread about history not about value judgements. To recount that something happened does not necessitate political or philosophical debate. The mods would point to the HAMB rules. There are tons of other places on the internet where people can talk themselves blue in the face without ever swaying eachother. Debaters need to go to those sites, not the HAMB. 'nough said.

1919 photo of the now-demolished west Empson Building shows the SE corner of Fuller and Placer. This Mission Style structure was for many years the home of Helena automobile dealerships, most notably Anderson Motors, Placer Motors and Capital Ford.

"Between 1920 and 1950, gasoline octane numbers increased from fifty-five to eighty-five, allowing automakers to nearly double engine performance by using higher internal pressures."

Of course, that was the lead talkin'.

This is how salt water taffy was made before the invention of the mechanical "salt water taffy puller" machine. You will notice that for the sake of cleanliness no human hands touched the taffy at any time during production.
