Very inspiring. Kind of like I was thinking it would look. Working on stripping out the 2 ton parts truck right now. My yard is filling up with 57 - 60 Ford parts and trucks all of a sudden. They keep following me home.

My fellow Fridge brother,how many leafs did you remove to lower yours? I'm on the super cheap on my build so a drop axle C notch aint in the cards atm.
Check on-line for drum skins or drum wraps. you can get rolls of different styles and colors. I have toyed with the idea of using some myself.
Your right the 4door was very inspiring. Got started on my project this weekend. Started with a very rough 4dr, that was very rusty. I just acquired a 1 ton with 55,000 miles. Let the surgery begin. When these were built they were not built for show. The gaps around the doors will need quite a bit of work. Since this is an old school build, I used oxy acetylene to weld er up. My welds don't resemble stacked dimes much anymore. Getting shaky with my old age. Looks more like loose change.
Here are pics of the build I am doing with my dad. the truck was originally a 4x4 with a camper on a 12' bed. We are now transforming it in to a 2x2 with a 6' bed and laying it on the ground with airbag suspension.
I was really hoping I would. My work situation might not allow it. One of our employees quit with no notice and jammed up everyone's vacation time. Boss is fairly pissed right now, and nobody's getting any days off. I keep hoping though. Monday I should be welding, and going to get a different hood which will be louvered. Also going to go look at a shortbox. The springs are the same width as a half ton, so it should be a fairly simple swap. Then save my money for a dropped front axle.
Well, I know how we all like pictures. I went and got some more parts trucks for my panel and the crewcab. I am already using the crewcab for work around the shop. I cut the two ton truck down to a managable size, chained it to the back, and drug it to the shop. Next I bought a 57 3/4 ton that was rusted out badly for our area. I plan on using it for the back window graft on the crew cab. I will also use most of the dash pieces and grille for my panel. Let the surgery begin. NO, my neighbors 50 Chevy shortbus is not for sale. It runs great and is being restored / rodded.
Here's my newly acquired '59. 292 Y, 4-spd (floor), #s and rust all match! Will be a shop truck and a fun project w/my son. First pic, as found under a carport in a little TX town. Second pic, at home and last pic the interior before I cleaned it up. Plan to lower it a bit...and pretty much that's all. I like the stock look, love Ys and the 4-spd is really cool too. Color scheme...yep, I'm scheming...
