Vintage shots from days gone by!

Cheyenne, Wyoming, 1958.

 

I love this jalopy (ha). An ex-Union Pacific locomotive in 1967 in Wyoming.

 

Bottom 4 pictures are Big Bear lake and Sugerloaf Calif.

PS Hmm good guess for me, I just saw the url's say big bear history site also

Top pic looks like suger loaf, Ive been in that old building that says dance hall many times. bar Cafe in the '80s

Got lots of negatives (still need to scan these, also including races and shows) from my girl grandfather when he was on conferences in the US in the fifties and sixties.
These are some i scanned from the original photo's.

 

It's a museum now, but looks pretty much the same.

The Union Pacific and (separate) Rio Grande stations in Salt Lake City are well preserved classics as well. Lot's of old pics about of those, especially the Rio Grande station.

Found these five shots from May, 1962 in an antique store in the mid ninties In Seligman, AZ. I don't have any information as to what show they were taken at. Notice the McNutt coupe in the bottom picture.

The remaining shots were either found in antique stores or bought off the internet.

 

I'm thinking the fellow on the right is a "playa"!

 

And finally, what's a good caption for this shot?

Eddie Rickenbacker and the Prest-O-Lite Race Team. Rickenbacker is in the number 12 Maxwell with an unidentified riding mechanic. The driver in the number 3 Maxwell may be Pete Henderson. Also pictured is the Prest-O-Lite Official Race Truck, a Kelly Springfield. There is a poster in the background advertising D. W. Griffith's Birth of a Nation.
