Weasel, thank you for the pictures of a stock Willys, so many try to tell me they did not come with wipers, hand brake, mirrors, etc. I like my safety items and if its on the road then you should have them on. If it has a v8 up grade then disc brakes should be on the front at least Seat belts, Modern lights with turn signals. Yea love my safety items. Well my oppinion. Willys Gasser

  6. One of my friends, Charlie Hemphill out of Raleigh North Carolina, raced a '38 or '39 Willys with a glass 41 nose in the mid-late 60's with a 426 cross ram Hemi and clutchflite in A/G. It was red with painted steel 16" wheels and said "Honcho #1" on the blank grill" and "Frito Bandito" on the deck lid. On the doors it said "maintained by Charlie Hemphill & Roy King. They raced it mainly at Pierson County and Rocksboro, they went to Piedmont a few times, but he said that place had a short shut down and he had alot of trouble getting the car stopped there. He said he used a '57 Ford hood to make the fire wall (good tip). He thinks they sold it in late '69 or early '70. Anyone know of this car, or what may have happened to it.

  7. Thanks, mate.

These were posted elsewhere here in the HAMB. I felt they needed to be here in this thread.
