No pics but on a trip to view a property in La Mesa ,Tx. , I saw many old metal stations along the route from Albuquerque.. What a flashback ! One of my pals has been looking for such a place to set up a hobby shop for car people and retirement. I know it's a dream but a good one.

My dads Standard stations only sold gas, oil, auto accessories and Standard oil insecticides. Had vending machines for road maps, pop in bottles and a small gum machine in the office. I walk into gas marts today and find them disgusting. Selling tons of garbage,****,key chain crack pipes, teriyaki to go. No restrooms to use and foreign non english speaking owners that look at you as if your going to steal something. You cant tell me that with todays gas profits that major oil companys cant demand better image from all there stations.

Does anyone have a picture of a 60's-70's Sohio Boron Pump?

  6. Anyone with a shot of a early 60s Richfield station with some "detail" ... I'd be beholding. Most shots Ive seen have been from to far away. My plan is to replicate the one I worked in as a kid.

  8. I really enjoyed these videos. I collect SUPERTEST and have almost finished plans to build a repro Supertest Service Station here in Shelburne, Nova Scotia to display my cars & parts collection

My plan is to combine it with a 20s Ford Dealership with some modifications, eg I will use the orange flying pyramid logo for "Ford The Universal Car" on my dealershop sign.

  9. Incidentally, Supertest used orange dominate with black trim as their colours.

I will post a picture of my 47 Mercury One Half Ton Service truck shortly. Hugger orange from the mid 7os is quite close.

Here's a shot from 1964. Not too much detail, but it might help.

Is that in about the style you was looking for?

  20. The building fer sure ... but the font on its lettering doesnt look just right and I am after "tall eagle" period on the pumps ... but it is all helpful.

Seeing the pennzoil lubester in the mix makes me think it doesnt belong there and this station might be a recreation ... if so he did a great job.
