Mac's carries a huge amount of stuff for your car, including speedo cables. Be sure to get a catalog too.

Very cool! Here's my '52. I'm in the process of getting a new motor and trans in it. I'm hoping to put a 292-312 y-block in it with a 3 deuce set up. eventually I want to add '56 Olds headlights and maybe get some whitewalls and sombrero caps.

Here are some other 52-54 Fords I like, that maybe you could use for inspiration:

Thanks! I really like it too, but I bought the car this way, and I just want to make a few changes to make it my own.

For any parts you need you may want to post in the HAMB "Wanted" section. I'm sure that there are quite a few folks out there with the stuff you need who would give a price break to a 14 year old working on his first rod.

I think that is great that you have that 53 Ford as your first car. They make cool sleds. My first car was a 57 Ford Fairlane 500 with a 390 FE. I was 15 years old and mowed lawns to pay for it. I still have it today. good luck with your project. More youth should be like you.

Man congrats on the new car! My daughter has been helping me build her car for a few years and she sis only six. Your build will build a bond between you and your father that will last longer then the car. Have fun busting your knuckles and building your car.

Congratulations, you have alot of fun ahead of you. I bought my first "oldie" - a '52 Chevy when I was 13 in '82 with paper route money.

Someone posted a pic of this but here's another angle on this '54:

Congrats on a cool first car! My youngest son has his eye on a 54 Mainline that we might have to figure out how to bring home...

Dude that's a sweet ride! Man it brings back memories of when I was 21, I could have had one of these, but I sat on it for too long. Next time I went to the Memory Lane junkyard out here in So Cal, I saw the same exact car there in their staging area. Bummed me out!

    Have fun with it!

  29. That'll be a nice ride. I got my first car, a 52 Victoria, at 15 (That was in '63 though). Good luck, keep us posted.
