The dragster belongs to a friend of ours, and the belts were out of date. Plus it wasn't in the year allowance of the Nationals (pre-54) It has a 62' Tempest engine in it.

I'm sure they probably would of let him run if it past tech though. Problem was he hasn't ran it in a while, and the brakes needed some freshening up.

His car used to have a flathead v8 back in the 70's when they were part of the UFRA.

Terry Stoker just finished up this car a few months ago. It was an abandoned project, and Terry did it up right! Fiberglass body, with real hood & grill. 350/350 set up I think. When he first pulled it into our little donut shop get together, I just drooled...

Terry's a straight up guy, and I think he has it posted here on the HAMB for sale, if anyone is interested.

That was Lynn's project car. It sure turned out great.

He's on the HAMB and has a great blog too: pewsplace.com

    Hi Pat,

Here is a video of all the bangers running at the Antique Nationals, including several of you. I also have a few pictures I will post later.

It was great pitting next to you guys. I will see you at the Time Trials next month.

  14. Thanks Bob! You sure made my day when I saw these pics. Its a neat little car and I remember reading all about it in American Rodder Magazine around the early nineties at a guess. Its full of history and the feature also included a picture of Manny Betz himself.

  15. Good point. Those Thickstun parts are really cool, as are the pics Bob.:D Good luck with the hand. As long as you don't get a surgeon like I did, his name, Dr. Peter Groper, seriously!
