I have a 1955 pontiac 4 door, runs great, stops great, steers great I drive it daily. That being said its still a four door... I have seen some pics floating around of 55-56 pontiac 4 door customs/mods any pics or opinions? Chime in plz
very nice ride. if paint was not so good could shave rear door handles. nothing wrong with 4 doors. a change to full hub caps and wide whitewalls would help. but, ones on car OK for now. add some pin stripes too.
Ya might change the wheels up a bit to suite yourself if ya want but a 2 door like it wouldnt look any better than yours (in my opinion)and it may even be less interesting if it was. I like it!
It is a 4-door sedan - it will never have the appeal of a 2-door. Having said that - it is a good looking car as it sits!!!!! It's fairly rare, looks like good paint, nice colors, it really does not need anything. The ONLY thing I would do to it is add dual exhaust, then DRIVE IT!
lower it...different hub caps...MAYBE some wide whites. Here's a guy's 2dr that lives around here. His aunt bought it brand new in 55. nothing major done to it since.

You could add polished torque thrust II's and a cry baby for good measure. Just kiddin' full caps from a caddy or lancer would be sweet.
I gotta say your car actually appeals more to me than the 2 door in camaroLts pic. I would change up the wheel and tire combo maybe do the full disc caps and maybe a tad lower but that would defiantly be the extint of it. For some reason a lot of guys, especially here on the hamb, are getting these really straight cherry survivor cars and then ruining them by pulling them apart, complete clean cars are getting harder to find and I think being the "norm or stock" in a modified era is just as cool if not more so. Just my opinion
imo, nothin wrong with 4 doors when they are cruisers. they look great all original, with lake pipes and bagged
next time you feel off about the four doors, picture a hyundai sonata sitting there with two doors and then hug your car.

I would go back to the factory 55 caps like in post 10 and some wide whites...so much for custom LOL. I've got 3 of those lying around if you could find a 4th for a full set. It looks like it's been lowered some already unless the springs are just sagging.
I have blocks in the rear, and cut coils up front so its lowered a bit. The body is crazy solid... Never had a old car this solid, no rust anywhere and comming from minnesota thats saying a lot. I think duels and full caps would help a lot. Thanks everyone!

I know I know they are not PONTIACS but two of the coolest four doors I have ever seen. This is inspiration at its best. The black 57 makes me look at four doors a lot differently!

I have a crush on 55 Pontiacs! Since you're asking- wide whites,full wheel covers,skirts ,and lowered just a little. Very nice car,nothing wrong with 4 doors.
