whew... that was one huge update. hope you all enjoy it. I will take photos when I go on the 17th (6 More days)I cant wait! if they say that pictures dont do it justice of which these photos are extremely impressive I can only imagine what it looks like in person. Walt had a great quote about Disneyland. Although it would work great for Lands like CarsLand as well...

"I don't want the public to see the world they live in while they're in the Park (Disneyland). I want to feel they're in another world and to forget their worries." - Walt Disney

Well Uncle Walt, you accomplished that goal.. thank you for that!

Exactly. Why am I more excited than my 9 year old son about CARS Land opening?

Lol that is because Disneyland has been responsible for making adults instantly return to their childhood mentality since 1955. Disneyland; where adults can be a kid again.

For those who haven't been to Disneyland recently there is a website called www.yesterland.com they showcase attractions that have been closed and or where new attractions have been built.

Great photos of old attractions and memories..

Don't know if this was already mentioned, but Max Grundy, Al Evans and I (Keith Weesner) will be signing our prints at the "Off the Page" event at California Adventure on June 16th 2:00-4:00.

(Timed to be smack dab in the middle of LARS, so I won't be set up there, just gonna shop, then head to the signing)

Hey Keith, awesome stuff! If anyone happens to be looking, I have something I'm kinda proud of on the Racers ride. When you come out of Ramones paint booth, you'll see a paint bench to your right with a striped up Caddy air cleaner on it. On a milk crate on the floor next to it is my old wore out striping box! It has Ramone lettered on the side, but the crown painted on is the reminder it's mine (King!) I thought it was pretty awesome they wanted it for their museum!

Weesner: Really nice job and cool that you get to make some Disney history. I could watch a whole movie of your style and maybe this is the first step.

That is really awesome that Disney thought to use local actual hot rodders and hot rod influenced artists. There is nothing better than the real thing! Kudos to who ever thought to do that!

just got back today, we did not have special guest passes so we had to peek throu the tall bushes placed arount the area that was not fenced off with plywood that had a bunch of posters.
its going to be a blast for everyone.

The place is so amazing and everyone is going to love it! In the dark is when it really glows with all the neon lights! When Jeff Styles and I were walking around down there at 5am (yeah, stripers can work early!) the place was just surreal! I honestly think the dads will have more fun in there than the kids will!!

  16. OK! Well I haven't been to Disneyland since 1984, looks like it's time to go again. :D

  26. We went last nite and tonite as well. I'm impressed. It's literally like walking into the movie with a cash register every 20 yards.

If you've seen the movie, the street lights up at night just like in the film, music and all. Pretty rad.

I don't go in much for the whole theme park experience, but I gotta say this is a well executed deal. Very nostalgic. All the rides and stores aside, it feels great. Awesome atmosphere, good music and just enough detail to keep the attention of most car guys. I was catching small things all night.

My wife who is a complete Disney freak was on cloud nine. From the front gate through cars land, I must say 'good job' too all involved.

Hwy 5 had a section of 3 hour long traffic. Maybe 15 miles of traffic. Seen a few street rods stuck in the traffic going north. Finally about 45 min away from Disneyland.
