Sorry other guys, just to get my point over :

Mika, je disais qu'après le chop très réussi, le montant arrière a l'air lourd par rapport au reste de la voiture. Comptes-tu l'affiner ou bien jouer sur la peinture pour équilibrer l'arrière ?

"Mika, I said that after the chop was very successful, the rear pillar looks heavy compared to the rest of the car. Are you planning to refine it, or plan on the painting to balance the back?"

hello guys  thank you to all the hot rodeurs

@ hermit : sorry but I no longer cutting back of the working tool .
Personally I like the rear roof like this , it still makes me think of a Citroen 2CV .
I'll do better next time ! this is my first modified car .

Mika, you should be very proud of your 2vc project. At first I did not understand what you wanted to build or the reason you picked a 2vc.

After seeing your work I will give you 100%! Your talant is 100%! Your eye for the design is 100%.

At my tender age of 63 I can only guess at your future. You are one of the few that can take on a project & totally make both the work you are doing along with not much of a project car into a build anyone would be proud of!!!!

    Congrats to you, Bob Perreault

I like the way you have the roof too.

The heavy sail panel is part of the character of a early 2cv.
And I prefer it over the looks of the later ones, when they cut an extra window into it.

The way it looks right now ( from what I can see in the pics), it still starts narrow at the top of the windshield and in a tapered wedge shape curves down into the rear fender.

    Awesome build man...

If I was going to change anything, I'd try to ad more horsepower.

It said somewhere you cant legaly do a engine swap.

But how about adding a second engine, like they did from the factory with the 2CV Safari?

I think he has the skills to put anything in there that he'd want. :)

Trouble is, if he isnt allowed to do a swap, that every cop in his neck of the woods knows what a stock 2CV engine looks like.

And Panhards are probably very rare and expensive now.

If you could disguise one to look like it belongs there, how about a 1000cc BMW R100 ?( also a flat twin )

Some guys swap for a 4 cylinders Citroen GS. It s air cooled like the 2 Cv, and can be done without too much work.
The trouble is a 2 Cv has a very characteristic noise and any cop will hear the difference :)
    Well .. Most of .

I know it has been said over and over...but the metal working skills are phenomenal.
Mika could teach alot of so-called 'artists' how it is really done.

Perfect proportions, have you decided on what colour you're going to paint it yet?

I don't understand French law! It's ok to chop and channel but you can't change the engine?

    Dave.

Very nice progress on the 2CV. Can't wait for the final steps in the build.

I would love to see the front door skins done in the same style as the rear doors, creating a complete oval with the roof and rear doors, like an exotic Bugatti. I'm always amazed at this build. My hat is off to you! Gary

Man, this thing is kool!!! Can't wait to see the finished project. The first thing I thought of was Curt, too hahahaha!!

I dont get the motor swap law over there either... I didn't see an explanation posted yet. Does it have to do with emissions or something?

Nope. Over here you can't actually do ANYTHING to a car or bike (officially). It's just a question of taking your chances and hoping the cops are sympathetic to your work.

On my bike I had to limit mods to the minimum so it still looks mostly stock to the untrained eye ... sad, I know.

  29. They were built like that in the Eighties - 2CV Charleston.

And what a great comparison this makes!
