there are few in this thread that must have a very different recollection of the '60s than I do.
killer32 for example, must have been raised on Mars

I wasn't sure what that chassis was for so I checked out your profile album. Looks like you're going to have an awesome T coupe. Love that metal flake blue color and the custom dash.

Started building it about a year ago Paul after I got the gasser bug because in england there now is a Gasser race series, tried to build it as they would of done years ago, no room in the workshop so this has been built outside on the driveway, Yes its a fun car and its been fun building it, and soon i shall rag the arse of it at the track :D

Edit. Thought i should mention its a fibreglass body, Its the one i sell so made sense to use it.

Sorry for the picture quality. Slides that were damaged in a house fire.

    Friend of a friend's approx. 1967

I am sorry that I do not recall any of the details.

This is from 1964. It was a 1919 Model T Touring car. A PO put it on a 1935 Ford frame. I bought it without an engine, transmission or interior.

Slides were damaged in a house fire. Sorry for the quality.

I put in a 283 warmed over - don't recall all the details. 3-speed transmission.

I built the headers - taught myself to weld with gas. I rebuilt the engine and most of the rest of the changes to convert it from a T-Bird the PO blew up.

Only the doors did not work. Original brass running lights painted black and a
neat old brass bulb horn on the windshield. Both of these items were later stolen.

Has original top bows and and ragged top.

Lots of fun to drive. Had to sell because life got in the way.

Anybody know what magazine this pic is from? It's probably one of the old Hot Rod or Drag Racing Pictorials, but which one? By the looks of the car, I'd say somewhere between 68-70. I have the Street Rod Pictorials 1, 2 & 3, and it's not in those. Also wondering if it was ever featured in Hot Rod or Rod & Custom. I've got quite few old mags from this time frame, but can't find this one.

  29. Wow, there are over 800 posts in this thread and you're sort of referencing post #601...

Google "John Davies" and you'll find tons of information out there.

BTW, your first post is supposed to be an intro.
