Looks great. Very interested to hear how your central locating sliding pin works out in action.

    Nick,
Looks good guy. Are you going to make it to Bonneville this year in Aug.?

  10. Looking good! I was wondering about the shifter location. Will it clear the seat? I heard you needed to use an S10 tail shaft......just curious

Again, thanks for the kind words, everyone...

    That's the plan, Dennis!

The shifter is just ahead of the bench seat. I think it helps that I didn't set the engine back into the cowl; running a 108" wheelbase. Also, the seat is moved back slightly to where the back of it is partially under the 'decklid panel'... or whatever that panel is called :)

Pulled the body back off yesterday and finished welding the underside.
Hauled the body to a friend's garage temporarily, since I'm just working out of my single-car garage.

Now I will concentrate on getting the drivetrain finished up. Quite a bit to do there, but I enjoy doing most of it.

Going to just clean up and re-gasket the stock 302 that's in there now and build my other one this winter. Need to also install the hydraulic throw-out bearing, make sure it's properly shimmed, and plumb it to the clutch master cyl.

Will also run fuel line and get the rear end finished up; brakes, axle bearings, etc.
Have a little finish work to do on the exhaust and will have a driveshaft made.

Stripped the ch***is down to the bare frame, finished some welding, and cleaned it all up.
Painted it today, but taped off the outside of the rails. They'll be bare metal until the body is ready for paint, then will paint them body color.

I used Zero Rust brand paint, recommended by NoSurf Jay. It is similar to Por15, but about half the price. Sprayed two coats on and it lays on pretty thick, so it'll take a little while to fully cure.

Also completely cleaned, ***embled, and painted the rear axle.
Rebuilt center section with new 4.11 gears...

Pressed on new bearings - thanks for the help, Jason!

Enjoying your build. My '29 roadster is in various states of flux. currently getting ready for paint now. I hope to have the frame done soon. Keep up the good work.
