ehboy have you read that graffiti publication history of hotrodding in australia "i think its called that some one please correct me if im wrong" there was areally cool flathead powered rail which had the coolest home made manifold ive ever seen like a foot high with multiple carbs called the flying forest

no i havent but i think i know the one your talk about. my dad has a lot of old australia hot roding and drag racing magazines from the 60's and 70's that has some rails in them .i might see it i can copy some
that would be really cool there was only about two pictures in the book of it. i got it out of the library. ive collected two flatheads now and dream of flying down the salt in one of these contraptions.i know most of them ran the quarter mile but what the fuck, you only live once!!!

Here is my current ride. Had it now for six years. Wheelbase 96 inches so it will fit in the back of my Dodge Ram. Engine 1962 Valiant 225 slant six. Now bored to 246 cubes , 11 to 1 compression. hydraulic cam of my own specs. Frank Lupo Dynamic Converter (4700 Stall 8 inch) 998 Torqueflight reworked by me with extra clutches , a Fairbanks shift kit, A&A 6200 RPM govenor kit and a deep pan and pick up. Shifted by my homemade shifter. Rear axle narrowed in house runs 72 Chrysler Big Drum brakes operated by a MG midget master with a hand lever. Offy manifold running a reworked 600 DP Holley and reworked Clifford headers. Gears are 3.91 and slicks are 29.5 M'T Ets Front axle is homemade with Chev Handi Van spindles and features a single 1/4 eliphtec spring. Everything is homebrew,even the steering wheel. Wife made the pleated "Redneck" blue denim upholstery . This was my first paint job. While no record holder I can run with the V8 rails and so far maintain a better then 50% win average. I run at Picton Airfield and Shannonville. I have been racing since 1966 but this car has given me more joy and pure fun then any other one I have had or been involved in. I am currently making a new body to give it a bit more conventional look. Don

That looks pretty fun! And zippy! So I guess TROG is OK with this from a safety standpoint? 'Cuz I know NHRA would send you packing-with an OHV V-8 that thing's gotta git pretty well.
