Hello Stan Its still setting on the floor I am redoing the crossmember in the car as they had it welded in and I couldnt remove the trans without removing the motor then tranny or remove the body!! :) I need to fix this now and make it serviceable incase theres any problems. Thanks for taking the time with us was nice to meet you and your son. We had a hell ride home to get my son home in time for his hockey game, but we made it and thanks for the directions my gps had me in for a 7 hour ride  The tranny looks good so far but i see its got 5/16 bolts holding the toures mine had 3/8 :( so i need a different starter now but Tony has me covered. Thanks for everything Hope to see ya again Dave

Dave, sorry I havent called this week. Been busy, I am sure you understand. I am heading out tomorrow morn and wont be home til early afternoon sunday. However, I might have a 10 spline axle upstairs. If not, possibly have correct length 16 spline axles and a corresponding center section, or just swap spider gears with yours. 10 spline is earlier than 55-56 for sure. I am thinking 48-52or53. Might also still have good trans mounts and did find paperwork for trans and kickdown.
Dont worry about the ujoint or 5-16 bolts. The tabs that stick out of the ujoint flange to the diff flange actually take the force. I broke the whole damn rear out of my 55 buick ( with a 56 olds rear) and didnt hurt the ujoint. I still have the same joint in front of the 57-up rear that is in it now.
Fusicks is a good source for Olds parts. they are in Windsor conn. just off of route 5 south of the movie theaters.
text me this weekend if you want to try to get together sun.

Hey Joe NP i am good on axles, gear (same one) and the joint. I believe its the 49 rear 47-54 or so. I looked allm over for a 10 spline axle took 4 rears apart etc. But its all good now got all the parts i think.. they will be in monday and then i can put the crossmember in and button that up i hope. Got alot to do but i should be ok. Tell Eli I am sorry thta i cant make it tomorrow got work to do and working on coupe after that. Sucks to miss his shindig.

I really need to figure out how they want the kickdown adkusted for tranny dont want to burn it up.

Fixing the spaghetti to while i am in there:)

Thanks Scott and Brett Its coming along just alot of work and limited time to work on it, like til midnight every night..... It dont look good for saturday but hopefully done saturday if everything goes alright but murphy`s law applies here lol. I was thinking on maybe heading down to Terryville anyway and taking a break from work and the car but i probably wont got to much to do. I`ll post some pics when i can.

Got the crossmember fit and welded need to wire it and the fuel line add tranny, rearend fluid, install seatpan, subrail, make a shifter handle this hurst shifter puts it right where the subrail is... but axles are in with new bearings etc so its coming..

You know, I kind of get PISSED when I see this thead. I remember I was struggling myself in trying to get a reply on this 32 that sounded to good to be true on criagslist. I should have been more persistant.

Dave, I sold the '29 and the fella is coming up from Delaware to pick it up Saturday, so I don't think I'll make it.

You missed a heck of a campout...not to rub it in or anything...

This is the first time and it was scary... I hated to do it but to do the crossmember i had to they had a cobbled up bunch of crapola in there and i need to do some more but it can wait til winter. Not being able to drive it sucks!! I like running open headers and being a HOODLUM but only on fridays :D long story....

Frank you just want to see me get shit but oh well... And i posted a pick of my starter change over just for you:p

I see what you mean about the new shifter location...but that 2 bolt deal should make it easy to do a offset handle. But yes, I see why it would hit the sub-cross rail.

Did your 32 guy show up with the rail? or are you going to bend one up.

So F'ng what...I will show YOU a pic of my single rocker shaft with crusty froze up Thomas magnesium 1.8's:p :D

This one was just inside the parts room doorway, on the floor, to your right, in a pair of stock 57/8 covers. My son says the other one must still be on a motor, but where?

I think a week in diesel would free them up.
