Car sounds Great just like always, Had to laugh watching you get in and out of the car, After starting to add the cage on my car I relized I have to change a cross brace above the rear end because my left knee doesn't bend far enough anymore:(, HMM maybe should have gottin that fixed years ago:rolleyes:. Tim

  22. Yea Tom I hope i never have to get out in a hurry specially with all my safety gear on, damn that would be rough............
And yes Virg all the joints groan now..........
Wayno yep hope to meet ya eye to eye sometime soon.....
    296 ........thanks
Kjell........ sure would love to make it to Mokan this year we'll have to see whats in the cards.....
Tim make sure you have enough room, man its tight in there with all the safety gear on and the big fat helmet for my big fat head!!

  23. Well got to work on the blower manifold design but had to stop and pick up my copy of Jolopy Journal, that put a hold on things for a while..........

Nice 4X2 intake Carl .... when???

    Vergil

  25. The 4x2 will go on before the blower just for kicks and to see if it makes any difference, I am going to use the 4x2 as a base for the blower manifold and just build a plenum above it to feed the eight inlets seems simple to me.............. Looks something like this......

  27. Well, well, well................... after 10 years of thinking I had lost an old friend, what to my surprise do I find in a section of the ol toolbox that I haven't looked in in a long time................. A little preface to the photo, I have had this on every car I have owned since 1964 when I put it on my brand new Impala, and it has been on almost every hot rod since then, now it will be on the dragster!!....................
Bought a new tool box for my lathe tools and had to clean out the old one..

Island Flats and Archiewest like this.
  28. Glad you're not hacking up the manifold! You might consider a fairly thick bottom plate (say 3/4") then do a nice big radius blend into the 8 ports. Also, having a thick bottom plate will help reduce the tendency to warp when it is welded. If you need any CAD help, just let me know - will be happy to lay it out in 3D if you want any CNC work done.

    Keep cranking Carl!

WOW!! Seeing that tapper gave me a hangover just remembering the old days:D It will be a nice touch for the dragster, Tim Jones

  30. Actually the bottom plate is .575 because thats what they had on the shelf at my local supply joint and I figured with the 12 attachment points it should be all right for a start until I can build my foundry and cast my own manifold. Thanks for the offer of the cad, maybe later when I design the cast manifold, hint, hint. Also I will be real careful on the welding process to keep bending to a minimum................

Yea Tim that was given to me by my best friend in high school many moons ago and I think it would look great on the digger, thats todays project!!
He was also a flathead nut...............
