  2. That's not a bad idea. It's been fairly nice out there the last couple of years we may be in for a hot one this year.

Sorry to hear about the heat in the mid west and beyond, we've had it easy here in central CA, can't believe it's almost July and highs have been in the 80s.

Well it's looking like the Joisey Boys are heading west with the 608 AA/GL and the 1986 E roadster. A little more power and new tires. New tires mean we are really serious. Here we come!

Carburaters on both cars this year, us old guys need simple stuff that we can fiddle with. That's the plan.

  6. We have the darnedest times getting rooms every forking year. Maybe its because we can only stay Saturday and Sunday nights. So we got our rooms in Wells again, and just for shits and giggles my brother called a few places in Wendover. We got lucky and got two rooms for two nights. Saves us over a hundred mile round trip to Wells every day.

So just keep trying fellas that dont have rooms in Wendover yet. We were also told they will be releasing the rooms they are holding for package deals several days before Speed Week starts.

Likewise! I'll dig up something cool for the raffle. I had another thought since we talked last: If there's anything you need taken to the salt that you don't have room for, feel free to ship it to me and I can lug it out there.

Also, if anyone needs their roadster driven out there let me know. I'm happy to take care of that for you. :D

Just another tip for everyone driving out... There's an exhibit in Salt Lake City right now with some very cool cars on display. You may want to check this out while you're in town. Here's a link to a thread I put on the main board with some pictures and info on how to get tickets:

I am a 1st timer and I was told this weekend that as a spectator I can only get about 1/4 mile from the start. Is that true? I am bringing my 8 year old and he will be so bummed if he can't see the cars start any closer than that.

Not true. You can walk right up to the line and touch the cars. Maybe even give the driver cold water or shade. Or maybe just a What-up? Its so great, Man!

Yup. You can walk right up to the start and touch the cars. But be careful about the what-ups. Some drivers get extremely nervous, focused, call it what you want and engaging in idle chit chat might not get you the answer you want to hear.

  18. Planning on coming in on Thursday the 9th - with the FlatCad crew. Having the same/similar crew as last year . . . have some fun planned as well. Will try to make the BBQ, let me know what we can do to help donate for the fun.
