The Chevy wagon under the bridge # 48972. I lot of alcohol had to be invovled in that little stunt.

    The 1939 Charles Thomas Special.

Charles Thomas built this in Batavia NY before becoming involved with the Playboy Automobile.

By the way, this one had an inside rear view mirror that was like a periscope facing backwards, that's the bump on the roof.

Car still exists, but is in need of restoration.

The current owner, does not want any pictures taken, or the location revealed. I did see it a few years ago, and it needs a lot of work.
On and off I have been looking for pictures and more info on this car, but there is not much out there.
It was featured in the August 1940 issue of Motor, but I cannot locate a copy.

Here is what Coachbuilt has to say:
Charles D. Thomas who later designed and produced the Playboy in Buffalo, NY built a striking 2-door aerodynamic coupe in his hometown of Batavia, NY in 1939 that was featured in the August 1940 issue of Motor.

Some references may have referred to this car by other names.
Info is hard to come by, and so are pictures.

If anyone has any more info, let me know. I am always loooking for info on vehicles produced in Western NY. even if they are one of a kind.
