Thanks everybody for keeping up with me and all the good words. Its been just over 4 weeks when things went south and here it is day 31 and its ready to go again. If it wasn't for my wife Deb (AKA The bank and Google wizz) my buddy Josh (AKA Tudor)who supplied me with the motor and many hrs of help and advice, Brad (AKA Brads Monster)who never says no when I ask for help and also helps out into the late hrs keeping Josh and I straight when we had to many cold ones and our little buddy Scott who just loves to come by and do what ever needs to be done this would have never happened. All I need now is the distributor. Tick Tock- Tick Tock- tick tock. I know Bubba just got it today but man do I want it back yesterday. So I will have to wait just a few more days to get it cranked up again. So here it is from this to this in just 4 weeks. Cool man.
O yeah, Tell me that isn't a horse shoe in the reflection of the windshield!!!! Is that a good sign or what!!!
That's funny..... I don't care who ya are. Looking good, let us know the difference in motors when she running again
I'm back. Things have been going great with the car. It's been back on the road since last Thursday. Runs great. The motor totaly kicks ***. It sounds like a fighter jet with the blower on it. The only problem is that I can't get out of a gas station with out talking to at least 5 people about it. But thats cool, I can dig it. I will say that summer is here and I need some sort of heat sheld in the car. The floor gets so hot under the seats that it you cant touch it. Time to order up some mat from summit I guess. But anyway, here are a few pictures and videos from the past fer days. A Video (Click on it)
Totaly man, Friggen sick dude! When I go down the streets of Old Buford it screems bad *** as it echos between the buildings.
Thanks Guys, Well i guess it;s time to prep for paint. To many times have I been asked (What color you gona paint it?) Enough!!!! So here we go on body work . I guessss?
Great thread I am glad you got a motor in her! Nice to see that chevy motor in there. Hopefully it will last! J
I've heard alot of great stuff about this peal-n-seal stuff, I heard it works great for heat not just sound...here's a link to a discussion below! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=711889&highlight=dynamat
Well now I have all kinds of ways to cool the car. Brad dropped by and dropped off two rolls of peel and stick. Tomorrow he is bringing by some Reflectix. Good stuff. This also looks to be some really good stuff. I looked over the site and they really talk it up. I have carpet coming, (Maybe tomorrow so with the holes I added to get some air flow and good insulation to reflect the heat. I will be able to ride again when it's 90+. http://www.lobucrod.com/ Here are the holes I cut. They are hidden under the sun visor when its installed.
Should help one Hell of a lot, Carl. I am using the same stuff from Lobocrud in my roadster. Easy stuff to work with, so far. All I have done with it so far is the firewall before wiring and **** under the dash. And he is an Alliance Vendor. I have some other non related uses for what's gonna be a lot leftover. Dave
Did some work on the floor this week. I installed some heat protection on the floor since it was like sitting in a frying pan. Brad hooked me up with two rolls of peal and stick and some bubble wrap insulation from Lows. It went in fast and easy. The hard part was the carpet. I would say about a 8 to 10 hr job and the seats were back in. It looks great and I have NO and I mean NO heat problems any more.
