I'm going down to Houston the first week of August to help with engine installation and finish prep on the car, scale, calibrate data system, load, etc. Tom T. and Corey did the maintenance there. I haven't seen the car since we pulled the engine on Sunday morning after Speed Week 2011. See you on the Salt! vic

I have never been to Bonneville and have wanted to go for 40 years. I have a weeks vacation I need to dedicate to it. What would be the dates I need to put down to get the most fun for my days off? TP

  14. Stop by and see us again Mike, you do the best work! ;)

  15. The opening weekend of Speedweek is the busiest with the most people. Things start to thin out by Mon/Tues but the crowds are smaller. Tech starts Thursday and racing on Saturday.

This Roadster should be there, it belongs to Jim Lindsay from Shedd,Or. It is powered by a blown 20's era Dodge flathead 4. I did the aluminum work on it last winter.

Here you go Rich, The engine shot is without the billet head, it was out getting finished when I had the care here last winter. BTW Jim said they have it running, and it sounds like an airplane! It has a Chrysler 4 speed trans. Now you see why the cone extension is on the nose.

This new Lakester is from Oregon, should make it as well. The plan is to run injected Alcohol during licence runs, and see how it goes. Might sweeten it with Nitro as the week progresses. It will be blown next year. Engine is 498" BBC with 3 speed B&J trans.

Very nice. It does not appear to be a fast four. Will you be running a billet OHV head?

It is a billet flathead, it is the 5 main bearing block.

So it's blown into the single intake port on the left side? Did they think about cutting into the intake log below the exhaust ports?

I'm going this year as is my Dad. We'll be driving my 48 Plymouth. One of the members of our car club has been racing a 1941 Studebaker for the last several years with a personal goal of hitting 200mph. Last year he got it up to 198 so we're hopeful that this might be his year.
