It took five years but I finally got the twin plug set up together and running. Pre-War state-of-the-art
Best I can do is this old one for now, but I'll be driving it to the Trompers Swap Meet next weekend and I'll ask a friend to borrow his GoPro. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=642014
I believe that video is somewhere on this thread! Or it might be a flathead thread. The Sandy Belond roadster is awesome!!!
This thing leaves me practically speachless too. From the rake of the screen to the stance and the awesome dry lake scene behind. Wow, perfection!
i looked in this thread, and others, and couldn't find anything. trying to find pre-war dry lakes racing class information. looking for definitive info on the guidelines for cars to fall into particular classes. in particular, i wonder what a banger powered 27 roadster on an A frame would classify as. thanks.
Sorry, I figured with the history on hand here in this thread, and the nature of it, that the question was applicable here.
No real engine size classes prewar just roadster, modified, streamliner. In '41 they brought in a new rule for any car running an engine with a stock displacement of 260 cu.i or greater, those cars would run in a new unlimited class regardless of body type A banger powered 27 T roadster would simply be in Roadster class.
thanks Jimmy. So, no letter prefix or suffix on the number? JJ, I think Rikster is the Jimmy B of hot rods...
