Dad's '54. The truck had Radirs on the back and his old club plaque can be seen below the rear window. I still have the plaque.
We haven't scanned many of the photos my folks have, but here's a shot of my dad's '33 Chevy in about 1980, that's my car seat sitting in the grass next to the car. He still has this car... Here's a '66 Impala he had for several years. 327/Glide, was later painted black before it was sold. Was his daily driver for many years. That's me standing with it in about 1987... Here's a current project of his... Buick Invicta Wagon. He just rebuilt the 425ci Nailhead... Here's dad last Xmas Day, target practice with an SKS. 1962 Old F85 2door in the background... Dad's '64 Chevy C-10 after meeting a big tree limb during a windstorm about a month ago... I'll hav to dig up photos of some of his previous cars...'66 Nova SS Gasser, '57 Apache, '61 Apache, '63 C10, '66 Chevelle, '65 Galaxie, etc.
I've shown the photo before but this is what my Dad was driving when I was born. A 41 Ford that he bought when he came back from overseas at the end of WWII.
My dad did'nt have a hotrod , but heres a picture of my mom ans me on his motorcycle. Taken a few years ago as I am now 70. He is still around and will be 91 August 13th. My mom passed last August 12th at 88 years old.
Photo of my late father and late grandfather during building in 1969... and today... Its pretty stock, until you look under the hood...
I use this pic as my avatar. Dad with his '49 when he was in the Air Force in '51. He still talks about how the Hollywoods would sound rolling thru the hills.
The stories are true. This is my Dad, (in the back ground) with his buddy in '46 after they modified the Army issue Harley 45's They un-crated from an army-navy surplus store. $200.oo each.
Purchased brand new in 1955 when Dad was 21, customized immediately... Not quite as COOL as the blown ARDUN flattie 3rd Gen posted, but it did have a McCulloch... His first hot rod was a '34 Ford roadster. No photos of that one, I wish there were.
I Love that Desoto a few pages back. *Drool*. The LaSalle was my dad's favorite car he ever owned. It was swept up in a huge flood and wound up in the Ohio River. He still has nightmares about that. The 28 Model A was the first car I ever rode in. Not a Hot Rod, it was all original, but it was so perfect he just wouldn't modify it. Dad drove it almost every day, weather permitting. It carted me to my first day of school. "What's a seat belt??" Normal question for me as a 5 year old kid. Not sure how I survived. But I did.
Here is Pop's 37 & 57 sometime in the early 60's. The 37 had a white & red rolled interior. A section of the running boards were upholstered as well. I'll try to find another pic from the side if anyone is interested in seeing it. The 57 is the same one that I currently have torn all to shit & trying to get back together.
This is my Fathers '38 Standard Club Coupe, built in the late 70's and has been on the road ever since! When my parents got into some financial difficulties I bought the car and it was my daily driver for 10 years. I gave it back to them a couple of years ago, I hated to see one of my Heros, my Father without a HotRod. Doc.
