My wife said that The HAMB is like my Facebook!!!

How do I explain that this is not only wrong, but some would consider it offenseive? Any help will be appreciated.

Sadly (or not so much), she is indeed correct.

The HAMB isn't facebook, but it is indeed a social media site (which is what Facebook is). So, she's technically correct (which is the best kind of correct).

The HAMB is my favorite social media site, of all the various ones that are on the 'net.

never been on facebook, never will, got too many skeletons in the closet. (no, I ain't that kind a guy) but the HAMB.... it soothes frayed nerves... kinda.

 

The HAMB differs from Facebook in various ways.

1. As far as I know, no one has ever been stalked, kidnapped and/or ****d.

2. No one has reported being bullied (well FNG's, but they deserve it) and/or commited suicide because of bullying.

3. So far, no *********s (thank God), trying to lure kids to the back of old Econoline vans.

These are just a few of the reasons this site isn't like Facebook.

HAMB is about a p***ion for vintage cars, facebook is about nothing. I signed up to stalk some old girlfriends and see what they look like now that they are old ladies, can't do that on the HAMB

I hate facebook and social sites like it..I had an account for about 3 months and deleted it. Just can't see the point of general chatting about daily occurrences, some extremely pointless.
Aside from being on the internet, and being a forum, i don't feel they are remotely the same.
If the HAMB didn't have a dedicated subject ( traditional rods and customs) i wouldn't be here either. If i can't learn something, or help someone it's not worth my time.
Sharing our projects is similar to posting on a FB "wall" i supposed you'd say, but again, it's still retains a subject we are all into, NOT something generic like " i just stepped in dog s*#t and am so mad"...

Just my thoughts though, and i know my thoughts are not worth much .

I despise FB. I love the HAMB.
No HR guy will look on the HAMB and see if you have the right stuff.
Face book is a bunch of ****ers that put all the info out there that should be unavailable. Folks arent smart these days and that shows alot.
Stepdaughter is in college. Theyre discussing how we were so unfair in the 1800's and how evil America is. Total liberal indoctrination.
She posts on face book, " I hate America". Nothing else.
After the wife got back to earth she told her to get that scrubbed off.

I'm on Facebook. 90% of the time it's people posting dumb**** pics of cats or other such **** with stupid phrases or posting that they went to some restaurant or bar.

Like I give a **** if you're at so and so bar in SoHo drinking a ****ing martini.

Or, I go on here and learn a lot and generally see cool stuff.

I'd like to see a "like" or "dislike" function for singular posts here.Rather than posting a reply,simple agreement or disagreement would be good enough.

I have found quite a bit of good content on FB.There are also a lot of other HAMBers there as well.Just like here you have to wade through the **** to get what you want.S-10 frame swaps,air bags? Really traditional hot rod stuff .
