What color with red interior?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Rex Stallion, Jul 15, 2012.

  1. So my `64 Rivi will be getting a paint job. Originally an Arctic white exterior (somewhat fitting for a Canadian car) I was wondering about a color that would go with the red interior. Lately I am leaning towards India Ivory . Got any ideas?

I agree- silver looks great with a red interior. So does white and black. Or black with red flames. Maybe a dark gray metallic.

I always liked dark blue with a red interior for some reason.

Black looks good with a red interior. 64 rev do not look good in white. Have somebody photoshop one for you.

Silver or a charcoal silver would look great on any Riv!

Black, dark grey or silver will do the job.

nothing cl***ier than white with a red interior, in my opinion.

You can't beat black with red guts, but there are any number of colors that willl work with red. Silver, white, red, dark blue, charcoal, and I'd even seen a gold car with red interior once that worked pretty well, surprisingly.

Only three real good colors - Red, Black, White. Maybe silver on a 60s Vette would be ok.

red on red looks good, there used to be one that I saw around town for a while.

I think silver would look the best, then red, then black. white with red interiors always makes me think of cheaper cars like Novas or Dodge Darts with six cylinders and 3 speeds. Rivieras are too cl***y for that.

  17. I love the silver, but IMHO Rivi's need to be dark.

So a ***anium, or darker yet, Sparkling Graphite. (a bmw color)

Silver, dove gray, dark metallic grey, anthrachite, nearly any shade of red, black, white, off-white, or perhaps dark metallic brown.

If it were mine? Black would be first choice, then silver.

Silver or Black is my vote, but I am biased since my 61 is silver (off white top). Black is a lot more work to keep clean and looking nice though.

    That 61 is sweet!!

I like Silver too. Especially the newer silvers which showcase body lines do much better than the older silver colors.

And yes, Black would be next, though I might lean toward deep, deep Navy Blue to keep it more interesting!

I only remember seeing that combo on one car, a 46 Ford. It looked really good, even though it doesn't sound that great. I had a '64 Chevy Impala with the black/red interior. It looked good, but pretty common.

  27. I'd agree with the silver. My roadster is light arctic gray with red pleated interior. I like the gray because it's non metallic, but I think silver on the Riv. would be nice with the red.
