Post up some pics of some tri-five gassers. I searched and only found a few on 55's. My dad has a 55 chevy, and I am thinking about buying a 57 wagon to make a gasser out of. Anyway post some pics please!
I just took these this weekend at a cruise in Wheelersburg,OH. I don't have information of this first one. But it's a killer gasser. This one belongs to a guy from the Ashland,Ky. area named John Chinn. He's owned it 37 years. Hope these help some.
Here's the gen-u-whine article...a "street gasser" from about 1967...drove it for less than 2000 miles over a five year period...the car hated me... 327", headers, BW 4-speed, Hurst Comp Plus, all blak interior, metal tilt front, roll bar, tonneau cover, traction bars, slicks...was named "Image-Maker"...hard riding sonuvabitch...I hated it, too! There's a great Robert Williams piece on this very subject. I sort of blame that painting for making me want to ruin every stock on car I see. Oh....and 40StudeDude....that picture makes me shiver.
Good shiver...bad shiver? The car...or the background? I'll go with the background...that was shot in mid-May at the outskirts of a much smaller Denver...just becuz there's snow on the foothills doesn't mean it is that cold. R-
For better results.....Count 5, Physcotic Reaction, followed by heavy dose of the Rollin Stones, 2,000 Light Years and Dandelion........Jumpin Jack Flash 55 would be a cool name. Walk Don't Drive 55.......destroked 265 or 6 banger F/GS.
We call it the rainbow warrior. It is rumored to have been a center steer fueler. More info would be helpful. Rodger
A little off topic but, Don't see much action on the street anymore other than an ocassional pokemon car or a newer mustang. Thought that you guys would appreciate the story. Earlier this eve I was travellin' on a parallel street to the railway tracks and just grabbed the green light when the train came blastin' up my right side. I mashed the pedal and started slammin' the stick . I quickly ran to 7 grand + - and as I overcame the train the passengers were glued to the windows in awe as they watched me overtake them. When I glanced over, the conductor was jumpin' with a big ass smile as he gave me a thumbs up . Nice little rush , L B

Shakey Puddin' and LB for president!!! Shakey, that '55 of yours RULES!! Here's mine you all have seen 100 times... but, I'll put it here to add to the fold... Sam.
Thanks for the pics guys! Now I want an opinion, how do you think a 57 4-door wagon would look with a straight-axle, slightly lifted rear, cheaters and skinnies, and a blown 283? Cool, or should I just build a kustom?
Here is my father-in-laws '56 Nomad. I've posted some before. Great post ,by the way. Keep em coming!
