Since the truck is going to be down for awhile, now is the time to get done the projects you can handle. Yank that six, clean things and paint them, maybe even weld up those holes in the firewall. Look up tugmaster here and talk to him about his Rebel Wire kit. Easy install and great customer service. Good luck with everything and she'll be a sweet ride when you get the suspension mess squared.
I like this air cleaner set up. Off an Edsel or Ford sedan. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=17402&pictureid=192014
I like that filter a lot.....I did a lot of cleaning and organizing today. I did do some re wiring. I changed all hoses and added new gl*** fuel filter. Rattle canned fender walls and degreased everything. This weekend I will work on firewall. I will remove foil and try to plug correctly. Here's a video of engine running. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj-bx9wEuyQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Mines not really even started to detail, but I sanded the valve cover and liked it,and I really dig the stock air cleaner.degreased it and sanded the pushrod cover since then, too.Love the gl*** bowl holley and fuel pump! I robbed some new original braided loom from my '46 pile for the wiring along with some black cloth electrical tape.Best of luck to you with your project!
Bring it to me...I'll wire it for you. I'll only charge you $5 grand, and it will look SWEET! I've got all these s**** wires laying around so I can wire it in every color! Seriously, buying a kit from Rebel Wire or whoever would be your best bet, especially if you have no previous experience. I've wired several cars, and I'm about a month away from rewiring my '59 as well. Feel free to shoot me a PM or three and ask any questions you may have. I'm probably close enough that I could come help you out on a weekend, and I'll work for beer!
looks great! I just ordered the rattle can ford paint code for the color of my truck to hit the frie wall this weekend.
Today I tinkered on the truck and discovered that what I did will always be the first thing I do on any other car. I went to dynamat my truck cab/doors and firewall. The stereo shop quoted me $1200. Way out of my budget. I started doing research and found people using peel and seel from lowes roofing section. $16 bucks a roll. Practically same **** as dynamat. I bout 6 rolls for just around $100 and went to town. IT IS FREAKING AMAZING. THE DIFFERENCE IS LIKE NIGHT AND DAY. I did two coats on firewall and certain areas where I felt it was loudest. Best $100 spent. Totally reccomend peel and seel.
how many feet were on the roll? I'm looking at going this route as well. I need to find something for under the hood as well.
Just came in the front door from Vegas to this letter..all I can say is WOW.... Now he's an employee. He was the big shot owner when I talked to him and his wife It doesn't matter where or when the court date is...to me. The Bureau of auto repair told me this was one of the most dangerous set ups they have seen and are writing a report and sending it to the judge. As well as tons of other 2nd opinion letters...which all say SIK fabrications is going to kill someone and should never be allowed to do work. It's just funny this guy still stands behind his work.....I did my first welding last week and it looked better than half the **** on my truck
technically, depending on his incorporation status, he may be an employee of his own corporation. I am. Don't trip. its common practice to shield one's self from personal liability. this way he has ZERO PERSONAL liability and his personal ***ets are not at risk. welcome to the CA legal system. good luck.
I'm going to re-file in riverside TOMMORROW not a big deal to me. I'm in no hurry I'll just keep on going and going I got nothing better to do and everytime I go out there they got a dope *** go kart track so ill just go there with my buddies no sweat.
technically, you don't have to re-file anything, but it doesn't hurt. the judge has to issue a change of venue but since you've decided to go after this with everything, just go for it. this thread is going to help alot of guys who have gotten screwed.
Good thing he's on the left coast, his builds will stay outta my neighborhood!!! Go man GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with everything!

That is horrible to see, but i love the truck, at this point i would definitely cut out all that **** and clip it. I did my 66 f100 with a camaro clip, first truck i ever did, welds look 10x better and all my measurements and angles are correct, cant believe these people call themselves professionals
interesting post in another thread. may be of some use if you have any difficulty collecting on a judgement. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7996255&postcount=261 i did some searching and found this guide from the CA dept of consumer affairs. tells you all the ways you can collect on a judgement.... http://www.dca.ca.gov/publications/small_claims/collect.shtml
