    Hi All,

I don't know if it is of any interest to you but i am based in the UK and go to quite a few shows and events over here, taking many pictures along the way.

I am in the process of up loading my pictures to a photobucket account so i can put them on some of the UK forums i go on. I generally put picture threads up by individual event.

Here are a few pics from different events just to give you an idea.

If this is the type of stuff that would be of interest to members of the forum i can post it up at the same time as i post it up here in the UK.

Most of my pics are from Kustom, Rod, Classic, and Drag Racing events, ranging from the early 1980's to the present day.

I will have a look back a bit later and see whether opinion thinks it suitable.

    Bye for now.

    Cheers.

    Russ.

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing more. Always fascinating to see how others modify their vehicles in other countries, no matter what type of vehicle it is.

    Thanks for sharing

    Hi A32Flathead,

That picture was Sunday just gone, i was up in the pits talking to Al, Ginner and Dave Eddy just after i took the pics, the event was Dragstalgia held at Santa Pod Raceway.

Al and the car have still got it, they ran a 10 a couple of hours after i took the pics. Al's reactions are still lightning quick, as you can see from these couple of pics.

Ginner's Fordson in the far lane.

    Hi All,

Al's Gasser at the Easter Thunderball 1990, it was a brilliant weekend until Darryl Gwynn's horrific accident, although us racers still went out on the bank holiday monday it was with a heavy heart and the whole atmosphere was very subdued.

Great stuff, no complaints so far. more please...

  12. I think there is plenty of interest in what you are doing, and Thanks for posting the pics.
But a word or advice - keep it on track as to HAMB Friendly - in other words, lose the late model stuff, the rear engine dragsters, The Rat Rod, Camaro, British Sports cars, Bikes etc.
The folks on here are pretty particular about keeping this forum focused on Traditional Hot Rods and Customs
    Again, Thanks for sharing

    Hi Don,

Metalshapes has already removed the ones in question, also sent me a PM.

Will try to keep an eye on it in future, another site i go on doesn't do shiney or alloy wheels.

    Cheers.

Love to see what is going on the other side of the pond. It really is a shame you have to run fenders over there.

    Hi 66Newport,

The one you ask about is a Humber Hawk it belongs to Nigel Speed a friend of over 20 years.

As you pointed out this is probably the nearest we ever got to a 55 Chevy on the UK car market.

The car is a real sleeper, when he got it it still had it's original 2.3 four pot but he has converted it to a Ford 302, AOD, and now runs on LPG which makes sense over here with petrol around £7.00 per gallon.

I have got some more pics of it at a different shows which i will post up in the future once i have loaded them on to PhotoBucket.

    Cheers.

  21. That is too cool. Thanks for the info. I wonder if any made it over here to the States? I would love to find an Estate (already been looking all over Google:D)on this side of the pond. That car is the dogs bollocks (I believe that is how it is said over there).

    Hi 66Newport,

There is another forum i go on occasionaly "The Brtish V8 Forum" which strangely is based in the US and there is a thread on the forum about these Humbers and there are definately a couple of saloon's over there in the US.

There are also two other variants a little bit bigger which came with a straight 6 which i believe was around 3000cc/180ci, Humber Super Snipe and Humber Imperial.

If i can find the link i will post it up for you.

    Cheers.

    Hi 66Newport,

Here is a link to that forum thread i was on about. It appears from re-reading it that there was a wagon for sale about 18 month's ago in the US and the guy that bought it is on that forum.

    Hi A32Flathead,

You must have been around the Stonebridge Park area, i used to live just up the road from you back in the early 60's Clitterhouse estate NW2, and before that Hendon NW4 my parents got compulsory purchased on this one and they knocked it down to make way for the M1.

I have got a lot of pics to load up to PhotoBucket when i get the time.

    Cheers.

    Russ.
