I can tell you than Maine isn't far enough. Its about 90 here and sticky. I love the heat .....its much better than cold and snow.

  3. had low 90s today...going to the mid to high 90s this coming week...no big deal...go out and work a bit...come inside to the A/C when it gets too hot....installed new power brake booster w/pedal and m/c. yesterday....going to do some fabricating and welding tomorrow.

  4. I went up to pull a hitch off my old beater and start stripping it out finally and got two bolts out and I was just dripping sweat. Which of course I didn't think to toss a tarp down so I was then coated with crap from the warehouse floor. When I found I was going to have to cut one bolt apart I just said screw it, I'll wait for a cooler night.

That's the kicker, I went up about 2:00 am to do the work. It wasn't that warm, but it was humid.

I know what you mean. Its hot up here in Ontario Canada, but I figure if you go up to Hudson Bay it might be to your liking.

IM up in MA and it's really hot here too but. Nothing that we haven't had before. I fiddled around the garage yesterday. All I got done was the Dynamat on my firewall and then bolted in and connected the AC/ heater unit. Man I wish I had AC in here, I have the wall space and I have a big 18000 BTU unit sitting up in the attic, I just need to cut a hole in the wall and put the sleeve in. Lazy Lazy Lazy, wait, make that Hot and Lazy!

Bring the heat, I love it. Not a big fan of being holed up in a garage at work like a dungeon because it's cold outside.
I'll take this over that dreary nonsense anyday.

Managed to get the new step bumper on my 66 F250 today, did not want to get dirty but I was bored and wanting to do something so I got it on. It came from a mid 80s GM truck and needed some trimming to fit and will need to drill two holes but will do that tomorrow after work,it did not seem too hot today but the sweat was running down in my eyes a bunch so after I got it on I called it a day.

    Been there many times!
Previously, I'd start at sun up on my project, then resume work in the evening.
However...Now I have a 920 sq. foot garage that's fully insulated with 3 overhead fans and a 25,000 BTU a/c unit. I worked hard throughout my life, I finally got my "Shelter" (Not... Man-Cave).

It was 110 yesterday, and we were doing some forging. Started at 5am this morning (78F) and worked till about 10am, I was drained but got some work done.

Temperature is too much and slowing me down.

  13. HOW HOT IS IT?

It's hotter than a June Bride on a feather mattress.

  14. Went to a parking lot show Just South of Denton yesterday. Everybody was moving kind of slow...But the sno-cone people were making serious money!

we had a few hot days, then back to cooler temps, in the 40 s the other night,i dont complain to much when it gets hot, i remember the winters

  17. Well, our triple digit heat wave broke but our normal high humidity came back with a vengeance. I could actually do something in the garage in 104 temps and low humidity but even 88 and high humidity sent me back in the house after a short while, I couldn't see from sweating so profusely. Its true what they say; Its not the heat, its the humidity...

Between the heat and the massive invasion of crickets we are currently experiencing in my area, it's pretty tuff the get motivated. There has to be 1000+ dead crickets in my shop and they smell terrible roasting in the heat. Sweeping them out doesn't help either. There is a fresh batch everyday and has been for about a month now!

  21. A couple of days ago one of the local weather guys compiled a little heat info for Western Washington. So far in 2012 we have had ... 50 minutes of temperatures over 80 degrees. I forgot the rain total, but it was way up there.

Global warming has missed our part of the globe.

  22. I gave up and installed this in my shop last week;

Yesterday, it got up to 98 degrees. I decided I'd at least do something constructive. Hey, tired of the bare trunk making a kettle drum noise everytime we hit a bump. Got out a Dynamat box with 24 sq ft, nine sheets. I had been storing it over four years in the guest room. Turns out, the dynamat didn't want to unfold easily. So I laid three sheets on the hot driveway best I could. MISTAKE! The brown backing paper didn't want to come off in one piece. Had to cool the Dynamat down. Then, the backing paper came off without much effort. Only took 2 1/4 sheets to do the trunk floor. Took the car out for a drive and no more thumping kettledrum when the car hits bumps in the road. Think the doors will get done next. So, with the heat made some forward progress.
