Man that LaSalle is pure perfection. I can't wait to see it finished!! Here's a little thing that has always bugged me, I edited out the radial looking tire on the hot-rod
thanks guys... Skirts are at the lower part of the to do list. And I am not really sure if I really want to go for a taildragger look (then the the skirts are a must for me) or just plain lowered kustom. So next things on the body are the rear bumper, window stainless trim and stainless for the running boards sides (similar to the 41 chrylsers). But till I get there it is most likely 2013. So may be till then my mind has changed
Food stop on our way back home from Hammers Timewarp last Sunday. Andreas Buster Litton clone got new side windows and is starting to get more and more finished before paint, upholstery etc. Another pic from a couple of years back. Amazing build in true 1952-53 style.
Do you have a front pic of the black and white shoebox? I'm just wondering if all he did was remove the chrome trim off the top.
I'm not against drip rails, but they sure look out of place on that car. Everything else is molded so smooth.
Haha I do agree, it would look better without them. Just posted it to show that it would be techically era-correct to have them, even on a chopped car from the early 50s/late 40s. I dunno, maybe this guy got laughed off the streets for having them
Jeff ..You feeling lonely on this forum lately? For me to really see the lines of the driprails I had to "roll up" the side window as the rear window gave the impression of the rail and the door top not flowing in the same direction (does that make sense?). Not bad - but with everything else shaved, not necessary visually I think. -Dave
Very nice mild early style 1935 Ford Roadster that showed up at Hammers meet 2 weeks ago. And a very nice mill too. Early 331.
Caddy powered ,smallblock or Lexus powered......nobody gives a shit these days especially magazines. Those days of looking at those details are long gone,it dont mean shit anymore and that is a fact
That '35 is beautiful!!!! I'd kill for a car like that damn it!!! Only thing that I'd change if it were mind (which it's not so don't mind me) is I would have got rid of the horns, and accessory lights and small turn signals on the bottom of the bumper. It's gorgeous though for sure!!!
Beautiful car!! Cowl and tail lights are '36 (rear fenders too, I think)....I wonder if it's a '36 with a '35 front end? No matter, really.....it's a stunner.
I can´t disagree whith you moore Jeff. For people who cares for this kind of cars it matters. Don´t want to pick on smallblocks and Lexus ( ok a Lexus is a little too much) but when I see a set up like this my heart beats a little bit faster that´s for shure. Ok that´s my oppinion. Kenneth.
Who gives a shit about magazines and what lots of non interested people think. If you build your car this way to please anybody but yourself and the close friends that "gets it", then you are doomed to loose. I care and that is why I started this thread. It takes lots of extra miles to go this route, but anything else IS less. THAT is a FACT! Let them build their half-traditional cars and let them explain on and on about how terrible it is to drive a flathead or another older engine in modern traffic. Usually most because they read so in a magazine. When it's all about changing gear ratio and having a fresh running mill. I can buy the argument that you can't afford a proper car or set up for the time being, but don't spend equal amount of money and try to tell me that you have to do it to be able to use it. That is BS. Ooops, a lot of ranting. Sorry! But I put all my dough and energy in to what my heart ticks for. If 99% don't get it, who cares? I know what I am doing and I do it all the way..
