Lose the taillights. Hide 'em and pretend they're not there.

That's because Bonneville's are way bigger than Catalinas and since there aren't that many Bonnevilles, we are more used to seeing Catalinas. I always thought that the Bonne's, 98 Olds, and Electra's were built on a Cad platform. Is that the case?

61 bonneville wagon taillights? probably impossible to find. may not be a direct swap either?

Olds 98 and Electra share body structure with Cadillac. Bonnevilles simply have a longer wheelbase and rear deck with more overhang than Catalina/Ventura.

  6. What if you tunnel the stock tail light in?
    Just a thought.

Looks great. I had doubts but, you won me over. Can't wait to see what you do to the taillights.

Alex, if the owner insists on a panel job, do something subtle like maybe all in white pearl with a different pearl shimmer on only the panels. Ghost (I hate that term) panels, if you will. Outline stripe in just straight white. Underdone not overdone, man. Or solid white with pearl panels. My two cents.

Looks KILLER, ALex! I love the photoshop version with the '59 B'ville taillights.

Those wheels look 1000 times better with the muscle car tyres gone.

  15. I really like the modified side trim.
I vote for grafting the tail lights into the fin.

I vote for something very simple and minimal in the bumper for the taillights... Think about 63-65 Rivieras... 63/64 cars are gorgeous, but the standout is the 65. And I think a big reason for that is the minimal taillights down low and away.

    Leave it white.

Or if you must do something, how about some thin, long, gold scallops.

I was thinking Safari taillights as well. If I recall correctly, the AMT 3-in-1 kits back then included a small chrome grille to fill in the space between the taillights that looked kind of neat - use the Safari lights and then come up with a grille that reflects the front grille design to fill in that big blank space between them.

The "59 Bonneville taillights get my vote (but I may be just a little biased)!

Not being a kiss ass, but I was thinking the same as the boss, 65 riviera in the bumper. Here's some which have a grille treatment.

Yeah, to me the car looks best with no taillights at all... so the closer you can get to that the better...

In any case, you can bet your ass Alex will nail it.
