  2. Where were YOUR hands!?

Getting the camping and BBQ gear ready. Packing w/o a car is a chore, dunno what I am going to do when I drag teh lakester out there as well! Just got off the phone with Tim. In egg-zactly 2 weeks we will be telling tall tales and drinking cold ones at the bend!

  3. Im curious, do you have a done date for your lakester ... what year do you plan on having it at the flats?

  4. Nope! Bringing the Pick-up....

  5. Next year CG. Got house/family stuiff to get done or I am living IN the pickup!

Salt report, from landracing.com. Yesterday upwards of 3" of rain hit the salt, flooding in Wendover. Forecast is dry and 90s for a week or more. We may end up with some killer salt.

So excited. My little brother (born when I was 19 - he's now 16!) is flying out from CT for his third trip to the salt. This year it's just me and him for some quality bro time.

  7. Wish I could drag mine out but he has to work!

Going to NSRA Nats in Louisville and leaving Tuesday morn for Bville tech inspection on Friday. Third time there and still can't put a handle on why I go, it's like a pilgrimage to mecca or something.
Will be traveling with deuce 5w and Jeem Smeeth '29 tub. Crossing fingers for no problems!!!!

  9. Ordered my new trailer six weeks ago, it was s'posed to be ready in three. Finally got it today. trip to Bonneville will be it's "Shakedown". ;)

  10. Trailer looks great Tim!

  11. So, what's the opinion on the various salt "anti stickers" or neutralizers? I would like to pick up a can or two for our CT70s. Opinions welcome.

I use a product similar to Salt Away. I buy it at the boating store. I spray my truck down before I go and wash it thoroughly when I get back. I've been going twice, yearly, and my truck is still rust free after 5 years owning it.

  13. Pam or some other cooking spray. I found it works better than Salt Away. JMO

I also coated the underside of 416 with POR 15.

  15. Postman brought a packet from the Mothership today. Ryan threw in a JJ T-shirt, a Jalopy Journal #2 in print and mentioned an Alliance membership!

    Thanks Ryan!!!!!!!!

  17. Got home from a shopping trip, new Montrail shoes, a nice UV blocking longsleeve white shirt. Some door blanks for my bunk in the truck and to use as tables for the BBQ. And lots of other goodies.

  18. Where do you get that kind of shirt? Sporting good store? Being long sleeve, are they hot to wear?

  19. GREAT pic Devin!

  20. This one is Columbia, I got it at Cabelas. REI has them as well. On sale this time of year since they are morphing into fall stuff. They work. I am going back for a couple other colors this weekend.

They are airy and vented, you can see my nipples! hahahahaha Wife pointed that out.

A week on the salt and those nipples just might start looking good

The '46 has it's own oil misting system installed. That should keep the underside tidy.

A little wipe/spray down with just about any kind of oil on the under carriage beforehand and a spray down with Salt-a-way after the fact has worked well for me.
Spray on cooking "canola oil" specifically ended up kind of sticky and stinky after awhile.

    Great pics Devin!!

  29. That's why I have Kathy out there with me, ain't no way Trent is going to look better than her. :p

I have had great luck spraying kitchen floor wax on everthing under the car except the rotors. When you get home, lots of water. For me, this has worked better than Salt Away, and costs 1/4 as much. If you need to get the floor wax off later, spray on some amonia, but use googles to keep it out of your eyes. Use plenty of WD 40 after it drips a day.
