I thought it was because Alphues was there a couple of weeks earlier...

 

When I was born, my father had a trusty '38 Chevy he ran up until the early 50s.

 

My mother kept complaining that we should get a better car....so my father came home with this '38 Olds.....

 

Then in 1959, he bought a '56 Chevy wagon, again a 6 stick that he liked.

 

In 1966, he bought his first new car, a '66 Olds F85, 6 stick, pictured in the garage.

 

By 1976, the F85 was showing wear, so he bought a F100 pickup special edition, stick 6. Then in 1983, I finally talked him into getting a V8 auto with AC F100.

 

I remember the whole thing watching on "KTLA" when I was 14...

 

" No need to change a good thing!"
