Another thing that happens is that if the Mods feel a subject is going to become full of drama they head off the problem by closing it. For example, there have been threads about TV shows and certain celebrities that get closed because by the tme it is over a lot of negative comments and bickering occur.

As much as we sometimes feel a thread got closed for no good reason, the Mods have a tough, thankless job, and have to make subjective decisions sometimes. There is no blueprint, they sometimes just have to play it by ear.

90 percent of the threads on this forum have NOTHING to do with traditional hotrods, for example International trucks

ebay is a direct connection to parts for traditional hotrods while 48-52 Dodges, Dodge trucks, Ramblers and International trucks have NO connection to traditional hotrods

I take extreme offense to this... Hey man, if we aren't doing a good enough job for you as moderators - find another forum.

l think most of the time the mods do OK, l have treads deleted to, l asked and got good reasons, no hard feeling from me, it's a thankless job.

    BUT

    Thanks man...

Most of these things are just Editorial decissions, and no problem either way.
Unless Users take those decissions personally, and sometimes they do.

There is a gray area of Threads that are sometimes allowed and sometimes Deleted.
The difference can be how many O/T and semi-O/T stuff is floating at the top already, or by the quality and/or Drama content of the Replies on it.

But one of the things that pretty much always get Deleted is Ebay and Craigslist stuff.

  14. Every once in a while, some idiot posts something that really ruffles my feathers & I can't help but tell him off, then afterwards I think to myself that I should exercise more self control & I figure the Mods will close it. It is kind of like having a second conscience!

Hey you started one about a motorcycle trip. It's still going and getting responces and not traditional, so it's all good.

    The way understand it
This place is not for advertising what you or your friends have on eBay and more importantly …. Lets say there’s was a whatever on ebay you want to bid on and get....like you really need it.
Then some bone head on here posts a link to it and suddenly 800 more people are all over it.

Do you see the point now?

Ya and dont ask anyone about there home town and whats fun there they will kill it off so you can't even lok back at it for your trip. Asking about car shows and drive inns and car museums not related. Don't ask me how.

Looking for drama and increasing your post count? Ask a stupid question on the main board.
Want a real answer to a real question? pm the mods.

  30. Why did my thread about little Pabst Blue Ribbon can filled spider web themed chromed billet wheels get closed? They were going to look real sweet with wide whites on my flat black rocker s****ing mid 70s Elvis Caddy! I'm nowhere near my spiderweb minimum on that car, and the iron cross taillights need something to even the balance out. So, what gives?:D
