Just went to the parts store for lug nuts for my 53 Chevy pickup. Regular nothing special lug nuts. They wanted $2.50 each for 24 nuts. That's INSANE. $60 for stock style lug nuts!?!? Am I out of the loop or is this crazy pricing?

This guy is from California and I bought all my lugnuts (bullet style acorns) and the center caps (bullet style) for 40 bucks from him at a swap meet. His stock style nuts were dirt cheap. He has an e-bay store too. He comes out to our swap meet in Springfield Ohio 2 or 3 times a year so I just hit him up there. Check out the link below!

The whole front end is new, wanted new lug nuts, but I won't pay that. I guess I'll rob some of my parts cars.

I would do the eBay thing but I have to have them tonight or tomorrow.

  8. Depends on how you look at it.
2.50 a lug nut is absurd.
12.50 to keep your vintage wheel and overpriced bias ply tires attached to your overpowered vintage hotrod ain't bad.

  9. that sucks I got mag nuts for 5 a lug at Les Shwab

That's what blows my mind, the mag, chrome, lock, whatever lug nuts are $20 a set.

  11. I just went to the local trailer shop last time i needed wheel nuts, it was for my '75 Holden Kingswood but they are same wheel nut right through to the earliest Holdens, and i assume Chevs would be same thread (7/16).

    I paid 20c each.

  13. Just finished restoring an old boat trailer & these long, chrome acorns were 50 cents each at an independant tire shop...1/2-20.

  14. You know, I didn't believe this so after I read this thread I checked. You are correct, they do want pretty close to what you stated for a lug nut. I guess I am out of the loop too but this is crazy pricing.I think the package of lug nuts for mag wheels may be cheaper than this.

  15. These,,,,sorry.

If they're 7/16" right hand lug I'll send you a box of them. Absolutely no charge.
I got about 50 of them.

I got 20 new ones for $10.00 from a small tire store. I would look for some place like that.

  20. Im tryin to find two *good* 1/2-20 lug locks with a key w/no luck.
McGard used to carry two to a pack at one time.

I just get some out of the little drawer in the cabinet.

The last time I had to buy some, I got the tire store to throw them in the deal for free....

At carQuest I bought chrome acorn nuts for 88 cents each 2 weeks ago. I didnt price standard nuts but I bet they are half of that.

Check with the tire store you deal with. They may buy them in bulk and be able to sell you a set at a lot lower price especially if you bought the tires from them.
