Dont worry, you wont look back 20, 30 years down the road and say, " my Plastic Cap Camry, man, I was warm & comfortable, I wish I had it now." Well, MO, what is that, Missiorri, I take it back, you might? Fuck it! At least your BAD ASS in everyones book here.

I'll be missing it by the time February comes around. Oh well, I just have to catch a ride with someone else on the "wet" days. Maybe not though, because it has rained here in like 2 months, it's getting really old.

You mean you can't make it nice and still get it done in a timely manner? All I can say is you need to get priorites straight if it's taking too long. I wouldn't assume from pictures of a really nice car that it's not being driven, or took many years (decades) to finish it.

  11. These guys pretty sum up my feelings about your observation about the older guys which includes me.

I started playing with older cars in the mid sixty's and still do,,during the 80's my wife's daily was a 40 Ford sedan and mine was a 30 model A truck,,it remained that way for almost 10 years.

As Don said, some of us wake up thinking about Hot Rods and go to bed thinking about them and some of us were driving them before you were born,,doesn't make us any cooler than anyone else.

I have 3 older cars on the road and drive them all but none on a daily basis,,I don't have anything to prove to anybody and if I wake up in the morning I might drive a hot rod but you can bet your sweat arse I won't be driving a honda! HRP

  12. After owning probably 250 hotrods, customs, gassers, and sports cars I somehow don't get too excited about someone telling me I should drive a hotrod every day.
Hotrodding has many things that are satisfying that don't involve driving.
    Think about it.

  14. I am pretty certain that I have never owned a Japanese car.
Not because I am bad ass, I just don't recall ever wanting one. Come to think of it I never owned a jap bike either, but I do like sushi.

I think that we sometimes confuse bad assedness with what someone drives or rides. Hell some of these guys are real wooses but they got nice cars.

I would drive my 55 Ford and 37 Chevy p/u every day through all 4 seasons if you could still find them at most used car lots and the junkyards still had plenty of them too.

  16. I have never owned anything that didn't get driven or ridden year around. Somewhere we got the idea that certain cars are not capable of going 4 seasons.

  18. this hobby is too diverse to worry what the other guy does. some collect spark plugs, some race, cruise, some take photos. thank god for the guys that don't drive them or we would never have those amazing "barn finds".

I am such a puss about driving the '55 to work 18 miles, I had a serious issue the other day mentally playing with myself. I mean it was so difficult, the feeling was as if I were contemplating killing myself! My wife said, "Just drive it honey! It'll be fun!"

When did I ever stop wanting to drive my oldies? I rationalize it has no radio so I can't listen to Mark Levin on the way home. It's hot now and there's no air. It kinda drops to low RPMs at stops after it heats up and the gen light comes on and I have to put it in neutral. On and on....then in the F150, with all those goodies the '55 doesn't have.............. I HATE myself that I didn't drive it!

Being 24 years old now I discovered many years ago the meaning of life, and the worlds biggest stress reliever. The meaning of life is to just live, being cool, being bad ass, being seen as a big shot over everyone else and having cooler stuff then everyone else is really not important, what is important is to live and be yourself and do what makes YOU happy.

It is only motoring, some people prefer to walk.

The more guys like you talk the less I want to work on my car. It is NONE of your business what others do or don't do with their cars.
