What do you all here think of this Lil Car built in '52-'56 ?

    Is it HAMB MateriAl ?

Is it MORE HAMB than an S-10 Frame Swap ?

    Thoughts ?

    But its Not !

  8. I knew a couple of brothers in the SFV that had a few of those. There was also one that I used to see running around in Burbank when I worked at Warner Bros. That is where the Panhard bar came from. It was invented by Panhard et Lev***or. For those who insist on calling it a "pan hard" bar, it is, actually a "puhnard" bar.
Another of my obsessive peeves, like "rims", "roll pan", etc.

  11. I want a Panhard air cooled flat twin engine - very powerful for its size.

I was Just Curious on what the M***'s thought ... And by the Yes verse NO in this short thread i would ***ume its a YES in moderation.

Asking cus a couple weeks back I posted a thread for the HAMB to help me I.D. some doors i aquired and the Thread was closed basicly sayinf they were NOT HAMB friendly.

Thanks to WIESENHIEMER who contacted me privately after the post was deleted & informed me of what the doors fit.

Yet the car is Mid '50s, Alot of Old technolagy in them & would make a Cool Lil Racer.

But the Narrow minds that think S-10 ch***is swaps, Center Bolt Chevy 350's, M*** amounts of So & So is sick or dead threads are TRADITIONAL but Delete a thread from someone trying to I.D. something.

Still cant figure out what is TRULY tradtional according to the HAMB

traditional depends on which bunch of gearheads you want to emulate...
the rolled up t-shirt and engineer boot guys, the flat cap and stringback glove guys, or the raybans and penny loafer guys... all of whom are "traditional" in some way or another. i say go for it; anything with wheels and an engine was a fair target in the "old days".... it's got a gas pedal and it'll go as far as the floorboard!

Thats Kinda what im Gettin at ..... What is considered TRADITIONAL to the HAMB is so diluted ..... We should just have an open forumn.

I dont even think the Mods know what is Old & what isnt.

I know Ryan will not want to but HE will have to set some guidelines or this place will get more off topic by the day. Some days it looks like discovery channel is running the place with the drama threads.

I hear Ya .. I really dont want an open Forumn. Just perplexed me that I asked for Help ... (Which I ultimatly got by a HAMB memeber in a P/M) ... about Doors for an obvious 1950s Sports Car and was shot down.

And then I read all the other ******** & Non-Traditional Garbage that is Posted here Daily.

Spread the GOSPEL ? I think that time has p***ed !!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Is arguing about what's traditional an old enough thing to be traditional yet?

I thought anything was fair game on here as long as you put an "OT" disclaimer in your ***le...Just search OT in ***les only, general discussion, and see what comes up!

  21. I'm just surprised to see this still open. I thought insulting the mods was how you got banned.

More like Porsche 356 with a bad nose job! Looks like fun, though.

  23. Well i like what I can see of it. But I'm a goofball. So you probably better ask someone else.

Pretty damned cool representation of a '50s home built sports car or kit car of some sort.

    I dunno ....

When Traditional is the topic of the Whole Damn Forumn then it should be stuck to ..... Not DELETED & allow the ******** Most of the guys here Thread about stay.

Some of us Actually HAVE questions & Use Parts from way back.

    I didnt know what I had .... I asked .... I got Deleted ...

Maybe I should have been asking If an Explorer rear end was what I need for my '33 Es*** with a GMC 6 Build.

Then I would have been King of the Day with 80000 replys

They can delete i really dont care .....

Maybe they will read it & say to themselve " Ya Know ... Hes Right ... Way to much Late Model **** here

  27. Not sure about insulting, but I was surprised you questioned whether the mods even knew what was old or not.

  28. In the 50's and 60's Panhard was the most expensive and probably the most powerful 2 cylinder car for sale.

Yeah, I think we have a pretty good idea of whats old or not...:D

    And we dont mind feedback.
( as long as it can be done without a lot of Drama )

As for the Panhard, its not my thing.

I love everything about Road Track Racing, and its out of the period I like the most.
    But its wrong wheel drive,
it has a tiny little over complicated engine ( and I own a Fiat Abarth, so I do have a pretty high tolerance...),
and the French have built much better looking small 2 seater sports cars than that one.

If I would get a Front Wheel Drive car, it would be a Mini Cooper.

    FbyAi.jpg

Specially if it could be a Maguire spaceframed version.

For a small engine giant killer Id just stick with my 1000TC

    5 30 12 009.JPG

And for a French car, I'd like a Simca 1000 based one.

    Ab09ScheideggerSimca.jpg

    Or the beautiful Renault Alpine.

For me that Panhard doesnt have a lot going for it.

( BTW, this discussion still would be beter at home on the Dogfight Forum.)
