Found a new project, finally home safe and sound in my back yard. Thanks to RMR&C I got the body pulled off the stock ch***is. It will have to wait awhile to get some work done. Gotta finish up the 51 Suburban before we can get to work on this baby.

Ch***is and engine are still in Montana. Will grab them on the next trip south. I hope mine turns out half as nice as yours. Wish I could have stuck around Saturday. Heard it was awesome.

    Never mind, I see it's a chev ch***is.

I have the same ch***is and was thinking of putting my 56 Mercury COE on it, but the engine location is what is troubling me as well.

    Well,
    Shift it ;)
(the mounts & a tailshaft length can be easily changed) :D

Failing that!, look at changing bodywork in the cab to suit
(there's more than one way to skin a cat ;)) so to speak! :D:D

Being a FNG, I'm not sure of the rules for a current online auction. There's no sense getting banned before I get started here. I am not connected to this in any way except I have purchased from the site selling this before. If it's OK to publish the url, let me know publicly and I will. I will not answer any PM's about this. It ends Wednesday. Other wise, enjoy the teaser and thanks for an unbelievably great thread.

Dude, do you have any idea how much people on this board spend trying to custom reproduce that cab? And it is a rare model year too. Post the link.

Most of these were either built for the railroads or the forestry services. They are real cool as a family rod.

I was wanting someone with a lot of posts on here to say it was OK, you're the winner. The guy that wins this is going to be steamed that I posted this here. Right now it's a screaming good deal and I've seen some end that way on this site. I have a feeling that's about to change. Be aware of the 10% buyers premium on top of the sale price. If it goes over $2000.00 including the premium, you won't be able to pay with a credit card. Read all the rules before bidding! The auction will also keep going if there is a bid within 5 minutes of its scheduled end time. Don't wait until the last minute to get yourself setup to bid if you plan to, do it at least a day ahead of time. I purchased a school bus on this site and the local governments use it to unload their surplus, so I can vouch for the integrity of purplewave.com if that means anything to anyone. Beyond that, you're on your own. If there was any way my situation allowed picking this up myself, you would have heard about this later this week. Good luck!

Well, regardless of my post count my opinion means no more than the next guy's. That said, I checked out the auction and I'd love to see a HAMBer win it and do a build thread for the rest of us to drool over. :D
Here's another thought, why in hell would a public library need a truck like this?
