I kept talking about the Race of Gentleman all weekend long. Seems to have good buzz going so expect a lot of people I think.

I'll bring my '35 but as I said before, better park me close to the edge because my car will serve as a plow. If only I had enough money and time to get my '33 on the road by then.

  9. Flyer. Get ready!!!

Good dates, Mel........for a moment I thought this would conflict with the *Jalopyrama*........which is the following weekend!! Woo! Hoo! I can make it to both events!!!!

Who would have thought that October would become such a great month for hot rod events!!

    We're back...

  15. Sweet Brucie! I like October, nice and cool.

I made sure to keep it after Hershey for the gents preparing to sell there. That was a tip from Mark Confourth. Glad we slid around other events too.

  16. I hope to start organizing some more events in and out of NJ.

I have a big meeting at noon today. If all goes well, there will be some more fun things happening in and around Monmouth County!

The Oilers Car Club is also looking to expand over the next couple of years. Jim Nelson wanted to see us boys keep it going with more racing verses just a bunch of pals into cars.
We, the NJ/NY crew got a little side lined when I had a son and another buddy had a divorce. That kind of stuff puts life on hold for a while. My son is 2 now, and can pretty much hang. We have a Flathead powered dragster that is pretty close to completion. We also have a belly tank that will be set up for three different engines if we can ever get back to work on it. I had to sell the 32 three window body that was to be our Bonneville car.

    Kids=CASH!!!

We inducted a new Oiler out of our area whom has raced since a child. ****, he still kind of looks like a man child. Hahahaa

For the past few years I have secretly observed looking for the right guys whom love traditional style cars and speed! We had hoped to start something in Cali. where the Oilers started and a lot of my friends live. Someday I like to live in Carlsbad! What a spot.

The purpose of our events were to raise money for our racing team. I'm hoping to get the events back up and running.

This other endevor I am working on could be really cool as well. It is a large building where I can curate exibits, throw big parties with major bands, and store vintage cars. It will be a social club for car guys. Hopefully some more news today! Be prepared for more shows though, reguardless. Drag racing, automotive and Motocycle hill climbs, and and annual beach race. I will also be tying all the music that I use to do into all of this too!

    Stay tuned!!!

  27. Hey Tom! I remember.

Remember the time you sent me by accident a bunch of nudie pics of Betty Page? I do!

Ya know, I haven't figured out yet if I was going to do a swap meet. I live for swaps, but I was hoping to make this race a bit different.

When I was young my family and friends would go to a horse race or a fox chase or some ****. Truth is, the tailgate party was so amazing, I never even saw what the horses were up too. Hahahaaa.

Lots of people would attend and everyone tailgated. It was a spot for us to drink beers and chase skirts. What else? It was also another early introduction for me to sophisticated cars. All the rich guys would drive some neat stuff to the party. Lots of dinking, fine wine, cheeze and cured meats. Did I mention drinking? Fun time!

So I was hoping for a more distinguished version of lunatic guys in and on early automobiles and moto bikes. There is a reason to my madness, and sometimes you have get into the party before you can swing from the chandeliers!!!

I hope to run this as an annual show if all goes well and we don't hurt each other. The mayors as well, which is a feat in it's self. The beach is beautiful, especially in October. If I get the band or two I'm trying for, this beach party is going to swing man. Bon fire on the beach in Jersey, is not a normal occurance either. It was requested by the mayors.

I hope guys bring their familys and pack some picnic baskets, etc. Beer on Friday night will be allowed on the beach which you can provide. Sweet!

The following day at the race the fire company will set up some trucks and pedal it all day.

My buddy from 10th ave. Burrito, seen on that show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives will sell food from a truck in the pits if people dont want to bring food. There are also resturants over looking the beach area and within walking distances.

A bunch of my single fin loving friends want to attach a paddle out too. Turns out the waves are pretty good because of an L jetty, and waves are good in October.

This will turn into a show like no other. Be at the 1st one so we can say, remember when.

There is a neat hotel right there too, a walk to the beach. It is called the Berkley Carteret! I live 3 minutes from the beach and hotel but will most likely have a room there as well.

I'm so excited bout this, it has always been a dream of mine! Can't wait to see you all.

  28. Please re-post the fliers anywhere you can. Thanks...

We will be releasing more info soon, but that should get you started. Like Facebook or other car/bike boards. I'm not a Facebook guy or Myspace man.

I've been thrashing on this thinking that I might skip the Gathering of the Faithful this year, and trek down to Jersey...
