Glad I'm not the only one with what if thoughts. I still think the uni body pickups were originally supposed to be panel trucks. Photo shop experts needed. I would have a hard time cutting a 60 wagon. I sold my 2dr wagon to a HAMB er who is building it. I still think about building a 63 Galaxy sedan delivery also.

    bunch of restorers around here.

after all, it's not like he's cutting up a 63 CHEVROLET wagon. we'd have to put a stop to that right away.:D

Looking ay the photochop I'd say it would make a nice Rancheerino.

    Yeah, I like it too.

Specially if its done right with the longer 2dr doors, etc.

    Cut it up...:)

I did a "Ranchero" job on a '60 Starliner AMT model when they were new. It was ugly.

I could never condone cutting up a wagon, but I have to admit that does actually look pretty good.

who cares if he cuts the wagon, it's a FORD anyways. But on the serious side, it looks way better as a truck then a wagon. Go for it. Cut it and don't forget to drop in a mouse motor.

If you can imagine it, someone's already done it. But no, I was there from the getgo and never seen a 1960 Ford Ranchero or even seen a photo of one.

BTW, we agree, style is a matter of personal preference, but there are opinions. I asked a friend who was at Ford in the day and he said, "real nice '59 Ranchero" is a contradiction in terms. He said the stylists had to be held at gunpoint to make them draw it up.

just proves anything can be made bad if you smoke it.

It is a wagon, either cut it up or s**** it for a 2 door, no real loss either way....

  20. It's your car, do what ya want with it. Stock wagons weren't considered cool back in the day except for push vehicles unless they were a Nomad or a Safari.

For 1960, Ford went with the Falcon Ranchero. No full size. It is possible a full size Ranchero exists but if it does, it was a custom job not made by Ford.

Yes, but the windsheild/entry hatch was built from a '60 Ford SW rear window.

Go for it! Make that '63 a Ranchero. For inside space as well as getting in and out you'd probably want to extend the front doors though as you did in the photoshop. As long as it doesn't get hacked up and then abandoned, I've got no problem with a '63 Ford wagon getting cut up.

good point. :) wonder if the poster knew that?

  26. Not likely.

I doubt that ford built a '60 full sized ranchero maybne a concept car but I haven't heard of one of those for '60 either.

I don't know why Ford didn't stay with the large platform for the Ranchero in the early 60s

Takes a real man to "Cut it up...!!!"
