Hey Guys, I might be getting a 1951 Ford F-1 here in a week or two. It has been Hot Rodded with a lot of stuff done to it. I was curios if any of you guys have '51 or '52 Ford Trucks and if you have any pics. Can't wait to see the pics! Here's my '51 F1, I bought her from a guy who spent about twenty years rebuilding her and I finished her up with an upgraded suspension, steering, engine, interior, and a few other items. Wally 1951 F1 - "Lucille"
Well, '48 - '50 are about the same, but '51's and '52's change some. I know the trucks are basically all alike, but I was talking more about the actual look of the trucks and deferences. Another qeustion, why do some '51's and '52's have the V8 emblem and some just have FORD. Is that the defference in V8 and a Six? I have a '51, rust free and nice. Not crazy about the massive wide front, so I converted it to '50 sheet metal and grille. Back window on the '51-'52 is wider, the '48-'50 is small. I prefer the wide window, so I have some visibility. (and room for my Grant rings, Giovanni Cams, Weber clutches decals and other such meaningful 'dog tags')
Lucille is SEXY! Thanks, JReece My clothing line HiRevZ Clothing Co. http://www.facebook.com/hirevz Most of all build what you want, do what you want, it's your car. My uncle has always said, "If you like it, I love it." Meaning doesn't matter if he likes it or not, because it isn't his car.
I love this set of photos, the one I'm looking at looks a lot like these. I'm building a '51, love them, there's a vid below of my flathead revving up. Lot's of pics on-line to give you ideas of different looks and stances. There are differences from the 48-49, especially in the front ends and grilles of course.
Another question, why do some '51's and '52's have the V8 emblem and some just have FORD. Is that the defference in V8 and a Six? 51's have Ford on the front emblem on the hood. 52's have the FORD letters on the front panel below the hood.
My God that thing is nice, and what a nice body, I'm guessing some guy spent a boatload of hours getting it that straight.
Shamless plug...... i need '51 M3 trim to convert my desoto powered 3/4 ton away from being associated with you guys
Wally likey! When my paint job starts looking worn and chipped I'm going to finish the wearing myself (although only time can properly make it look that nice). Looks so much better than a shiny clean paint job IMO. Wally '51 F1 - "Lucille"
