For your enjoyment: shameless self promotion... all in good fun we even got our picture taken A small squal Friday evening to start the weekend Ed Rink explaining to me what RPM he needed for the new record Tim
Looks like you got around to all the courses. That shot of Tim in the pickup was during the shutdown...................felt like 3 hours. We got him out of the truck. Any idea how long we actually waited?
But wait......... there's more we found our support truck's (LuLu) older brother. This guy bought his 35 ford when he was 16 for $15.00, and that was a long time ago. I loved this 40, crusin into the Nugget
Hey Ed, We raced from one end of the pits to the other and back, from one of the four tracks to the other. We only ran out of gas once the whole time.
Man that is so cool, great pictures. Thanks for posting them. Did you guys drive the panel truck from Colorado? Looks like the campers in pup tents got a little wet,LOL.
Me and my wife were out there and saw all you guys on the top parking lot of the nugget on saturday night. Looked like a geezer gathering. Just kidding and should have said hi to ya all. I love speed week!!!!!!!!!!
Great to meet you guys out there,( Im the guy with the other panel truck) I bought the panel when I was 15 , Im 61 now , and I paid $10.00 for it, not $15.00, did'nt want you to think I was some rich kid back then !!! THANKS Chris
That was one of my favorite cars there. It's actually a '39. Threw me off too. When he did the chop, he removed the wipers and grafted in a cowl/wipers from a '40, put in the two piece 40 windshield, and he also put a '40 deck lid handle on it. Posts were pie-cut and laid way back keeping the right proportions on the roof even though it's chopped. He shaved the drip rails, then moulded in a small "lip" where the drip rail was so you don't lose that line. P-E-R-F-E-C-T. I've never seen a 40 with a chopped top that I like. They're too good stock. This one I LOVED. Cool car! Thanks for the pics.
