My wife and I will be in the US from 8/27/12 until 9/26/12. Flying in and out of LAX but driving in between. We will be visiting Las Vegas, Denver(8/30/12), Lincoln NE, Kansas City KS. Goodguys(9/1/12), Detriot(9/4/12), Niagra Falls, Washington DC(9/8/12), Chattanooga, Atlanta(9/13/12), Memphis, New Orleans,(9/19/12) San Antonio and Phoenix. Dates are approximates.

It would be good to attend some of the smaller local events if we are in the right place at the right time.

    We are looking for parts for our 1955 Ford Country Squire 8 passenger wagon;
We are in need of a LH front fender fiber glass trim, a RH rear 1/4 panel fiber glass trim, the 1/3rd seat assembly for passenger 7&8. We could be interested in other squire parts as well.

We are also in need of a LH lower 1/4 panel for a 28-9 Model A Ford Tudor, a LH 1/4 panel for a 28-9 Model A Ford Sport Coupe or 5 W Coupe and the trim piece that goes from door to door and covers the top of the 1/4 panels and the bottom of the roof on a Sport Coupe. This piece may be the same on a leather back Coupe.

Hope some of these parts are out there and available.

    Thanks
    Phillip and Wendy

No comment on the parts, but while driving from DC to Chattanooga see if you can get on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Va-N.C. spectacular views & nice winding road.

    Gee Phill:
Thats really cramming. You could spend weeks just enjoying South Bay.
I would like to offer as I could. The Wife and I want to visit Oz real bad someday and we will be doing the same. Have had the good fortune in my time, of being in Every state but Alaska. So I can be of some assistance.
Carlisle (Pennsylvania) popped in my brain immediately when you mentioned this area but its just out of your schedule.:( Its one of the largest swaps in the states.
I have to get out of here but give me a couple days and will Pm you some suggestions if that helps.
Best to you, Its a bit goofy here in the USA but you will meet some great people I guarantee.:D
    Thanks
    Luke

With all due respect, are you nuts? It appears that you're planning to drive 6 or 7 thousand miles in 30 days. What about actually stopping to see something instead of watching it go by in the rear view mirror? If you decide to alter your itinerary, I can keep you lined up with fabulous car show between Sept 1 and Sept 22 .... all in SoCal.

Thankyou all for your opinions and options. We are aware that we have planned a lot and at some pionts along the way we will need to change some things but we are used to traveling long distances. The Model A panels that we are looking for are complete panels and not availabe re-pro.
    Thanks again Phill

I have done over 7,000 miles in 30 days in the US before so you shouldn't have any trouble. I live in a suburb of Detroit called Livonia and have a nice guest room and would love to have you and your wife stay. I imagine you are passing thru to visit the Henry Ford Museum? It's about 10 miles from my house. I can also take you to some local cruz nights as it seems you will be in town during the week. Oh yeah, I have a '60 Pontiac Catalina 9 passenger Safari station wagon so I think you'll feel right at home at my place.

Not all of us grew up in Moe. We had to by Levis.

Someone I showed the photo to thought the person second from the left was Mal.

Would say it was Etemoga Pub on the way to or from the 87 Nats.

Well cut off my legs and call me shorty.

I'd never picked that as Mal.

I've heard Target was too rich for Moe.

Levis ..... On my ass :p

We we've been here for a few days now. Landed last Monday morning, picked up the renter (Dodge Caravan) and headed across LA to our motel in Pomona. Did the afternoon tour at So-Cal, did some shopping and then crashed for the night.
Tuesday morning went to Larry,s T bird and Mustang to order parts for the 55 Country Squire and then headed out of town. Lunch in Las Vegas then headed towards Denver. Passed through some spectacular mountain cuttings and pulled into Richfield Utah for the night.
Wednesday morning left early, still heading towards Denver. Drove through some incredable rock and wash formations, stopped at just about every lookout piont along the way. If I had been told that rock and soil types could change so rapidly and be so many varietys in one state I wouldn't have believed them. On into Colorado and had an early lunch in Grand Junction. Then the climb started. over 2 miles up. In Australia our tallest mountain is only 1 mile high. Pulled into Denver around 5pm and met up with expat "aussie steve". Steve showed us around a bit(thanks Steve).
Thursday morning visited Bert's Model A Center and Sam's Early Ford Parts. In the afternoon we went to Martins in Windsor looking for wagon parts then on to Rusty Mountain Relics and picked up a few Model A parts. By then it was mid afternoon so we headed east and stayed in Ogallala NE.
Friday morning we headed to Smith Center KS to pick up some A parts that I bought on ebay about a month ago Then onto Lawrence KS for the night. Driving into a storm.
Saturday(today) we were going to attend the Goodguys event in Kansas City but the rain was still heavy so we just headed out to St Louis MO. Had a late lunch at Pappy's Smokehouse. headed out I70 E and drove into a big storm. According to the news it was supposed to be the tail of Cyclone Isaac. Stopped for the night at Effingham.
Seen a lot, Stopped a lot at what sounded interesting, met a lot of nice and interesting people already, probably missed a lot to but we've seen what we wanted to so far especially when we have been of the interstates.
    Thanks for listening

Up here Cyclones are called Hurricanes. Speaking of Isaac, you might want to reconsider visiting New Orleans, but they did say The French Quarter is open for business. Things might or might not be OK for tourists by the 19th.
