  6. I can't think of too many aussie 'U.S style' comp coupes. Altereds, yes, not Comp. coupes. Phil1934- Thanks for posting the pic of A/C#37. Crazy- good kooky lookin' coupe there. BTW What event is that?
Miscalculation looks to be hooking nicely. What a cool Old(s) thing to see, hear, smell..

The Bakersfield 15 oz. youtube clip would be a good fit here too.

You can just see the Bakersfield banner above the Bantam so that would be the Nostalgia drags.

  12. Leroy Mackey & Bob Veselka's C/C from Corpus Christi, TX. NHRA Top Eliminator Runner Up in OKC '57, got nosed out by Buddy Sampson, another Texan. Both guys are still alive and well and love to talk about the old days.

Glad this thead got revived, love the compe***ion coupes.

Bob Gorman did run the Bantam coupe, first with a fuel flathead, then with a blown Stude, ran 124, apparently later went to a Cad motor.

The Crosley was run by Bader and Fererra from Cypress, CA, ran a blown Cad on gas, ran mid 130s...it is seen several times in the Life Mag series taken at Santa Ana in 57...

  15. Jim Klim's Lyndwood, a recent build but with period parts exactly like he wanted Pat Bilbow to build it in the late 50's. This one's a real beauty.

Rich we just bought an Anglia comp coupe/sedan and thought it was the A&B car but on close examination you can see its not BUT it looks like the one in this thread that has 327 on it with the injected Chevy in it. Does it ring a bell to you. Here are some pictures as we found it and as it was the last time it was running cica 1967-69 You can see the difference in the wheelwells and the rear section that was cut.

Old and faded, but possibly one of the best magazine covers ever. The best part is, all 3 of these fuel coupes are alive and well!

mrtc4w, you asked about the headers pointing back into the body. The way these coupes were built, they had partial wheel tubs inside the body, and the headers were supposed to blow the balled up tire material off the top of the slicks.
