    Thanks,
yes I have too many irons in the fire.... I also have 3 67-72 short bed chevy truck projects going right now also. I'm trying to learn some project adoption restraint...I'm failing miserably.

This side profile shot is awesome! Even without doors, hood and trunk lid, the profile looks great.

I love these GM fastbacks chopped. I'm fine with either old school drivetrain or modern. Where in Texas are you? I can definitely relate to having too many projects going on. I'm heavily considering buying a late 60s Ranchero this weekend too, and that's nowhere high on my want list, but atleast it won't need much to be a driver.

Well Sumbitch.... my plan will not work to use ford rotors on this. Atleast not with the wheels I have. So I'm gonna punt and run Chevy wheels up front and Ford wheels in the back.

FYI The Granada wheels had a 2 3/4" hub and my wheels are from an early Thunderbird supossedly...and they have a 2 1/4" hub hole. I acquired rotors from a 71 Mustang that had the correct hub but they are 11.29" diameter and the offset is wrong.

oh well you win some and you lose some.... no tire rotation for me unless I bust them off the rims each time. I'll just run cheap blackwall radials and replace them when the shoulder goes bald in the front.

Spent some time with the blaster and some chassis black. I ordered smaller bags for the front.

    looking good, love the stance

  12. i've had quite a few 67 to 72 chevy trucks and was wondering why you put the front of the truck arms so close together? does everything move correctly? this is something ive been thinking about for a while on my merc. did you try the stock truck crossmember?

  13. went back and looked at the pics again. i think i know why now. to get the rear of the arms in under the frame you scooted them in naturally moving the front closer together, right or wrong? is the drive shaft going to run over the cross member?

I like the unchopped look you've got right now. However, it is your ride. Looks good.

Concrete blocks turned with the holes vertical will hold up a building, but the way they are in the picture, not strong at all. That is how most of us do it though, why is that?

    That's what happened.

You know what? I didn't check the clearance with it aired completely up. I hope it clears. I should be getting my engine back from the machine shop this week and I can check it. If not I will have to run a two piece drive shaft.

I'm willing to bet that I set them that way because there was more surface area touching each other... They lasted the short amount of time I had the car on them.

More blasting and painting...new bags came in. They will have plenty of room now.

I might get shot for suggesting it but you could always buy the wheels with both lug patterns and run a set of caps...

I took a little break...but I have been working on it. I got the front back together. I went with the Chevy rotors and put the Slam 5" bags up front. I got my 6 back from the machine shop and I am in the process of painting all the crap that goes on the motor. I need to go into the transmission to replace the input shaft bearing...it's a little floppy. My main focus has been on organization as of late...I am 10#'s of shit in a 2# sack with all the projects I have. I finally got the 67 cab off my body dolly so I will be putting the Fleetline on it shortly. I'll get some pics of the frontend up soon. I can't get on photobucket here at work.

Thanks for keeping an eye on her.

Got a few things done today. I had to drill new holes for my new MaxJax post. After that i got the old girl on the body cart so i can finish the frame and run all my lines.

I made a one man cab and bed lift for my OT truck projects. I still need to sling some paint on it.

Minor victory for me this weekend in my battle of organization. With 5 projects and limited space...i have managed to move the 3 truck projects to my backyard.

I built this cart to hold my powder coated truck frame so i can start assembly. I can remove the wheels and put stands in there to elevate it if need be. I also will have tilt arms for my cab dolly that I can use to tilt the frame upright if needed. Just rambling.

    Thanks
    Darryl

Did you ever decide on a motor? Those complaining about LS motors NEVER ran one! They are as reliable as a brick and way fast! Your ride, you decide! Keep posting pics!!

    Thanks.

Yes I decided on a 250 6 cylinder and a 3 speed manual. you can see it in a few pictures in the thread. in the last pic it is in front of the car on an engine stand wrapped in plastic. I got it back from the machine shop a month or so ago. Part of my organization endeavors is to make room to assemble the motor and get it in the car.

I'm putting the LS in my 67 truck instead.
